for some reason it feels like i have a perfromace loss. dont know where it could be. i had iol on my plugs so i replaced the grommets, does anyone know what the deal could be.........or things to check. i do have a exhaust leak where there are two studs broke on the head, but from what i hear that wont realy create a loss of performance.................HELP!

What kinda engine?
what kinda setup? (turbo/NA)
how many miles on mtr?
Where was the oil on the plug? (in the plug hole where the plug wire goes or on the electrode like in the cylinder)

the oil was both realy, there was a little on the top of the plugs, but there was oil on the treads of the spark plugg as well, and where it makes it's fire
well it sounds like u just had leaky spark plug tube seal and maybe it was causing somewhat of a misfire. the oil on the electrode prolly came from when u took the plug out it ran dwn. As far as the exhaust leak, it can cause power loss on na as well as turbo cars it ur car is still reading the O2 sensor. can cause the car to run rich which results in loss of power.

ya my exhaust leak is thowing a code, for a knock sensor.....could that be doing it. it does kinda seam that if the check eng. light is off car runs better???

i think if u have a knock sensor code then ur car automatically takes timing out causing a loss in power.

I would fix the check engine light first then i would do a tune up on it and see how it runs then.

ya went i went to the ndra in south ga, i ran 14.6 best time, but was having to rest my ecu everytime i ran, i ran with check eng light on and ran a 15.8 with r/t of .199, so thats how fukd it makes the car run.........thats def the problem, that and i had a worped c/v joint
