I vote to make this a sticky. It would answer a LOT of questions about the ebay kits :goodjob:

i thought everyone knew about that shit. you need to be warey of the rest of their shit too. some of it fits real good and some of their flanges look like the ocean during a hurricane.

i had an ssauto manifold on my car for about 5k HARD miles and never had a problem, no flexpipe on the exhaust and i wasn't using the rear hanger for the downpipe either. i've seen several others without problems with SSA's later stuff.
as for the XSPower turbos, i've never once seen one of those hold up. most blow up shortly after installation. they are thrown together with junk parts bought in bulk.

the problem is the compressor housing is welded together, now you dont know if a $300 ebay turbo is the real deal or the ssauto crap.

ever heard the saying..."if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is"? $800 for a complete turbo kit with intercooler...think about it.

well I'm testing ssa's complete kit out on my car now(sr20det)....I had the bottom mount manifold with zero issues(about 4 months of abuse)....I now have the top-mount manifold, xs-power turbo, and wastegate....been on the car for about 4 months now. The only problem I've had was the wastegate flange cracking at the manifold....I can't even blame that on ssa...because the way we routed my wastegate dump, it would hit my motor mount when the engine would rock. I had a boost creep isssue too....when we were welding the flange back on, I ever so slightly cleaned the inside of the flange area......no more boost creep, nothing else has cracked....thus far.
Oh yeah, the lock washers they provide are complete garbage....they flatten out and break when you torque them...go buy some good washers from NAPA or somewhere and save yourself some headaches.
Can't say that ssa's stuff is garbage....for a while, the highest HP sr20det in the US was using an ssa top mount manifold...he was making 688rwhp.
As far as the xs-power turbos falling apart...well....mine smokes occasionally, but still hasn't junked itself at 18psi daily. Actually, for ~$290 I think it would be a decent turbo for someone doing a low budget build, or for someone like myself, who used it for mock-up to see how I liked a top-mount setup.
Needless to say, I'm not really dissappointed in the setup as a whole (for the price)

SS takes OBX headers and "modifies" them for turbo apps...walls on the header are not thick enough for the heat of a turbo
