Ok im confused to who is the bigger idiot. My friend just bought a 95 integra with lik 100,000 something miles. Needs a new to be fixed a lil (timing belt, water pump, etc.) But he is convinced that his car gets 30 MPG. I was thinking about it and it doesnt sound right. His car is 11 years old and has alot of mileage on it. But he says that I am an idiot and dunno shit about cars. I am more than positive that a car's MPG depreciates over time with wear adn tear and all. Can yall clear up as to who the real noob is? He says his car gets 30 MPG with dieing parts and wear and tear doesnt affect his MPG much, or am I right that his car's MPG has gone down.

The main factor in mileage is how it's driven but an unmaintained car will get worse mileage...clean air filter, oil changes, bearings, anything involving friction, etc.
Maybe he has smaller tires making the speed sensor spin faster than it really is.

Damn 100k is not alot of miles for a honda....and timing belt adn water pump do not effect performance...well the timing belt can if its lose can cause a lil bogging but still as for the motor it self if the rings and valve seats are fine i see it running 30mph daily......
So you are the Bigger Idiot :)
