^ ya... kate and i are looking to possibly move to alaska, some of the programs they offer for her field would pay all of her loans, 2-4x as much as here for base pay, etc...

Alaska rocks... If I was to move anywhere else, that'd be it. It'd have to be on the coast tho... Very awesome place.

Its kinda like moving to montana.. sure.. you may be able to buy a 15,000 sq ft house for the same price as a 1,400sq ft house in atlanta... but do u really want to live there??? thats just MO.. im all about location over money

$1700 tax break to move and purchase a home there (EVERY YEAR!!!). Alsoyou will need an AWD vehicle... get it NOW before you get there... a 1989 AWD Sube w/ 546,000 miles will set you back 6 million dollars in CO and AK. :) Also, make sure you eat at The Club Paris in downtown Anchorage!! Yummy!!!!

Its not total darkness for six months unless you live toward North Pole, AK. I grew up in Anchorage (18 years) and the winters can be depressing.. more like 4-5 hours of sunlight. The summers are the exact opposite, the sun doesn't set till about 2am on the longest day of the year.

Boring place though, as far as the import scene.. what would be considered rice here would be show quality there if that says anything. I'm going back next month to visit and I'll take plenty of pictures.
