yes indeed.

plenty of people can vouch for the motor, that it has been taken care of. sucks that it spun a bearing cause the one time on the interstate that i really get on it it spins a bearing

if you spun a bearing you have to pull the whole motor apart take out the crank have it machined down 10k of an inch then get bigger bearings to match the crank. then you have to get new piston rings and all new gaskets, new timing belt, new water pump, there is alot more to it than just putting new bearings in it

a durka durka, already been through the machine shop, has new timing belt, water bump, and most gaskets less than 10k ago. and no your dont have to get new rings, just dont take the pistons out.

just a side question and a free bump but what is the difference between a long block and a normal block? sorry i am apparently still a newbie

JDMBeau
04-26-2006, 08:37 PM
block = just a bare block
long block = usually means block head and accessories, alt, manifolds, blah
full swap - err'thing

even if it has new gaskets and everything when you take the head off to replace the bearings you have to replace all the gaskets, anyone who knows anything about motor swaps knows that.

JDMBeau

why would you take the head off to replace a ROD bearing? all that can be haneled under the car.
