Does it have VTEC? So who copied who? This thing looks an awful lot like the original Mini Cooper.

I hate to say it but I am with him. Can you prove it? There is so much that says other wise to me

1. the door panel looks to be pretty worn for some reason. Like it was rub against a lot with the turning of the crank handle etc. Could just be the pic though.

2. The close up of the vavle cover with the dirty bolts and stuff there, it appears to be more that 1000 miles worth of use.

3. The pedal covers on the clutch and brake appear to have more wear than what would occur from the 600 miles that the odo reads.

I think you should provide means of proof on the mileage before trying ot sell it for 9g's.

Bingo, plus one for you bro. I bet it rolled over a couple times but at least once.

It has not 1000 ORIGINAL miles. Thats bullshit. That's what a regular person drives a month.

I dont dounbt it if its in the third time...for the age. 2Cyl motor should run forever and be easy to keep up.

True, but if they can prove it to me then I will apoligize and edit my posts. Until then, I call bullshit. I can clearly point out things that show more wear than that on them.

hell my old hatch had 312 on it and its still daily driven but yeah i bet that shit has rolled over. my biggest issue is the pedal. shouldnt be that worn....

No dude, simply no. No way in hell 640 miles for a 72 is irrational. It averages to 18.82 miles per YEAR. And like you pointed out, you can see the pedals are worn out and you see rust in engine bay and door panels. Unless a person lived in there, there cannot be so much wear. He is lying. And, as you, I will apologize and delete my posts when I see something convicing.

I correct myself, you are right. I was thinking of a car that is not daily driven. I was thinking more of a weekend car.

^^^ what i was refering to is the fact with the "low" miles on it, the motor really hasnt even been ran and the fluids in it are prolly nasty and itll probably need some motor work cause of not being ran.

Damn right. :goodjob:

As for the "lie..."

The title shows the last registered mileage to be in the 500s. I'm just posting what it would have me believe.

Aside from that... Have you looked at this car? Do you see what kind of condition it's in? It wouldn't matter if it had 50k. This thing runs perfectly and is the cleanest example I've ever seen pictures of, much less encountered in person.

Thanks for the bumps.

Nevertheless, I still see some concerning rust issues. Especially at the seams under the hood.

Also, maybe they put that cause that is what the odo read when it had rolled over? Have you pulled a car fax? That would give you all the registered owners and what it had on it each time it was registered.

**Edit- Can you even run a carfax on cars this old? Just wondering, lol.

This isn't a Barrett-Jackson deal.

I'm not saying it's perfect. I'm just saying it's as good as it gets outside of a collectors hands.

Go dissect the thread with my Cobra for sale. It needs a good bump. :)

clean car but i can almost GUARANTEE you have seen that shit roll over, therefore, making you one shady asshole if you are lying. sorry, just how i feel but if not, nice car then and if it hasnt rolled over, i will retract my statements as well. onto the cobra post!!

Dude. Are you serious? Get out of my thread with that shit.

I am not the original owner. I am going by what I've been told, and what the title says. If it makes you feel better, we can pretend that it has 100k.

But the price is still 9k.

As for me being a shady asshole... who are you to make a statement like that? I've sold more cars in the past year than you are likely to own in a lifetime. No complaints yet.

I'm not here to argue with anyone, but I don't want you running your mouth and shitting on my thread for no reason.

Thanks for the bump.

I'm doubtful that's original miles, but I think that enough people have mentioned it that I dont need to harp on it...

Do you just like buying and selling cars or do you like have a small place in raleigh?

I just hope you also know how long a drive it is up there and how few people in Import ATLANTA will be willing to make that drive... I should know, my job's HQ'd in Charlotte...

savanna13
04-18-2006, 12:20 AM
I don't own a buisness... I just like to have cool cars for a while and then sell them... and make a profit if at all possible.

As for the location... I know it's a longshot. But I travel to pick up cars... sometimes 10 hrs or more. If you want it badly enough, a train ticket and a day of driving will make it yours.

Thanks for not continuing to bust my already swollen balls on this subject.

Just some advice but this is ebay material man. It is more of a collectable car that a true collector/enthusiast would only appreciate. So, list it on ebay and more than likely some one from the west will be buying it. Lol.
