I was actually wanting a FAL, but came home with this. So far I absolutly love it. It is a Kimber Pro Carry II in .45. I think it will be the last pistol that I buy. My ONLY complaint so far is how far up the slide release it. I have to reposition my hand to hit it. That bugs me. But I have small hands, so oh well.

Kimbers are very nice indeed. The slide tolerances are a little better than Colt's.
All you have to do for your problem is to get an extended release and it will be fine. Sometimes they stick out a little too much so be careful.
