So I got a cheap alarm (mainly for keyless entry) for my girls car, I'm tryin to install it, but need a bit of advice. The same color wires that go from the ignition, run through the kick panel, but hey are a different gauge, anybody know if they are stillt he same wire and i can splice them from inside the kickpanel, or do I need to go straight from the ignition, any QUICK help will be very greatfull.
Its for a 1998 Ford Explorer

get a multi meter before you try. and get them at the ignition harness. when you take the under dash down the harness will be partially covered by a gray plastic cover. just pull it off and throw it away. grab them all there.

probably wont be if its a different gauge wire
YEAH... they probaly aren't... it just safer to do it of the ignition itself.

They are definately not the same wires. Ford does not change guages on the ignition wires inside the interior of the vehicle. Tag to the harness wires near the ignition. If you have any questions of how to do it, have a professional (or someone more experienced) do it for you.
