No, I think you misunderstood. I never asked what smoke is. See, I know what smoke is being that I was there....and driving...and I, in fact, put the event together. I asked where the pics of you driving are. I'd like to compare mine to yours.

Oh and BTW, my tires are silica based so that they last longer and have better traction. Silica doesn't produce as much smoke as rubber does. Don't get me wrong, they still smoke and I'm still learning to get them to smoke. They just have to be heat cycled before they get happy like some of the tires with more of a rubber based compound, like the Cooper tires pictured above.

So, post em up whenever you're ready. I'd like to see them :)

Yes, we love Maxxis. We have only used 25 tires since the Houston qualifier on Feb 18th...that includes both cars and we have traveled every weekend since to drift. Maxxis tires are a great buy for the everyday drifter being that their tires are silica based and they last a whole lot longer than some....that may produce more smoke ;)

Also a little trick for some of you. There is this stuff called tire dope. it has been used for years to soften up drag racing tires. Well, low and behold if you soak some of your tires in it beofre you drift....you get tons of smoke. I learned that at Formula D last year :)

Been to Houstone every year for the past 5 years. Dan used to have a 1400 whp Supra http://www.batlground.com/index.php?content=racecar and we used to go to the Supra meet in Houston in every year (look for me in the TX2K2 and 3 videos). I actually went to the Formula D qualifier most recently in Feb and tried to qualify for Formula D. Jon Yim (daily drifter) from Houston came and judged the event at Turner this weekend. So...I am, in fact, very knowledgeable on Houston and it's scene and it's people and their attitudes. In my experience they have all been very cool.
