Talk about a buried tach. Impressive that they were able to cram the 3.5 engine from the new Maxima into the tiny Sentra. I bet that car feels fast as Hell.

B15's are gay.I used have a Spec V. :(

I loved the car. It wasn't the fastest thing out there, but it had torque everywhere. Lots of fun. Especially when boosted, the car has no real weak point in the powerband. The massive torque pulls you until you hit full boost and then it just keeps on pulling.

I agree... for what it is, what it weighs, and being N/A I'd say it's a good bang for the buck.

That's fucking cool. I don't care for the B15 chasis as much as I do the B13, but I gaurentee you that little car is pretty damned fast.

^^ agreed - I want a B13 to thrash around in

is it just me or did it just look like they set the RPM needle farther up to look buried ( cause it didnt really sound that high of rpms IMO )

BABY J

It didn't sound that high b/c it is a VQ (v6). If you are used to listening to high-strung 4 CYL then it will trick you. The power delivery of the VQ is sooper smooth.

sorry dont believe it! i drive the vq35 everyday, that sentra sounded like garbage.

BABY J

It's a VQ. Travis (from FI-R) has been in the B15/240 community for quite some time. has the 1st boosted QR25, and one of the 1st VQ swaps. Not to mention the QR limits the fun to 6700 RPMS... look at that tach, it was NOT an SR20 or QR25DE spinning that high.

Wish I had the money to put that motor in my car........

I say get the PTI turbo or a US Spec Sr20, save the dough. Don't get 9k into a build like I did.

QR's suck too though.

Stock for stock I'd rather have a b13 se-r.

LSD stock, revs to 7.5k, handles WAAAAY better, 2 doors, known autcross slayers.

SR20DE B13 se-r or P11 G20t

or swap an avanier/bluebird/pulsar motor

Then bust that b15s ass.

My turbo g20 was fwd but with the lsd and suspension I still handled almost as good as my s14.

Not to offend you b15 guys, but if you have one, it makes a good daily.

I disagree. The SR has damn near 20 years of R&D behind it, you can't compare the 2 fairly. The QR is till brand new basically. 175HP/180TQ is not bad by any stretch of the imagination, and can propel a 2700lb SEDAN to 14.80s in stock trim. And that's w/ a 6700 fuel cut! The Spec has the helical LSD as well, and in stock form kix enuff ass in autox. When we speak on Spec Vs though, I am hardly the guy who can argue fairly --> www.seriouscustoms.com/sunbeltprogress (http://www.seriouscustoms.com/sunbeltprogress) . Last dynoed at 248WHP. But this build was a lil over 9k b/c there were NO aftermarket (hard parts) for the QR when I did this build. And as I stated, for what I spent I would DEF not do it again, but I bust boosted SRs ass at damn near any RPM. In fully-bolted and tuned trim, the B15 is a lotta bang for the buck by any standards.

12.9's, he's built 2 so far, and sold a few kits, both he built ran 12.9s. The tach is off, Travis posted on thevboard that the wiring is different between the Maximas and Altimas the VQ35s are sourced from, so he had some wiring to work out to get the tach to work properly. If you think that is sick, he stuffed a SR20 crank into a QR block with custom rods and pistons, threw about 20+ psi at it, spun it to 9000ish rpms and made just shy of 600 WHP. There are some videos somewhere.

Yeah, travis is the real deal. When I was building my motor, him and I were gonna be the 1st to try to SC the QR. That mofo DEF knows his stuff. 1st Qr to the 13s, the 12s, the 11s... you get the point. FI-R does some SERIOUS engineering.

I'm trying to get all the pieces together to do a custom an Eaton/Magnuson superchager setup on my spec. The blower I want/need is on ebay right now, hopefully I win the damn auction, cause I'd love to save some money and put it towards the fuel system. You saw the datalogger pics, that's just the start, I need the blower to design and fab the brackets and piping.

There is one guy on Vboards who sells a full SUpercharger kit...I would stick to with that if you still want to keep the driving ability.

BABY J

He wants to go custom

Big J

I'm aware of just about every product out there for the car. The supercharger setup for sell by revolution autoworks is a centrifigual setup, it puts out good numbers, but only one person is running it currently, and that's at 4.7ish psi. I don't understand how a blower will affect "driving ability", drivability will not be adversly affected. At part throttle and during the transition to full throttle the power delivery of a blower is smoother, more linear, and there for more easily controlled when compared to a turbo. The over all power potential is signifigantly lower than a turbo or centi set up but the change of the power curve makes for a good daily driven car with the goods to haul too. Plus I like to tinker and fabricate. I have no other reason to explain designing and building a "gokart" powered by a 33hp sixspeed motorcycle engine, sure I could have bought a shifter cart, but wheres the fun in that. (all I can hope is the fuckers who stole it crashed it because the brakes went out, if you know anyone with a bright yellow square tube frame kart (or someone who went to the hospital because of) with a 125cc two stroke suzuki motor on it let me know)

Please read:
This is a compairson between three types of blowers and a turbo set up, all dynoed, all on the same motor, and all at roughly the same PSI. Eventhough it's a ford v-8 it's very comprehensive none the less.

the PTI kits were excellent, but, unless i'm mistaken, they stopped taking orders on those quite some time ago. there's another video of a VQ spec on google, methinks. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5061749614421563616&q=vq&pl=true (http://)

PTI is out of the game for kits, but they can still get you parts.

I wish JWT were more user friendly as far as Nissan ECUs like Hondata is. They are really disappointing at times.

Jim Wolf sucks. My g20 always had problems breaking up. You'd hit boost, you're cool, then you'd do it in another gear, you break up.

I sent it back and it came back still sucking.

I had a Mine's ecu in my s14 with an safc over it and it was smoooooth.

BABY J

I wouldn't say that they "suck", LOL, but I know what you mean. You can't find a better US shop writing Nissan code. What is holding them back is the fact that they will not work on customer cars unless you are a magazine editor. That's BS, bc our money spends as good as theirs. They would not write for my Spec V, even after showing them 248whp dyno (N/A) to show that I was serious. That's when I went w/ the MOTEC.

There is a really big issues with trying to change or modify the specs ECU, nothing but bad has come of it.
