im not gonna say he is not a mediocre guitar player..and that band doesnt sound different fom any "new" metal/hardcore band...they are all about appereance..i mean yea there better than brittany spears,but cmon man they are nothin special

okay .. I'll go ahead and say the 'City of Evil' is a bit cliche' ... but c'mon Waking the Fallen the ones before that were pretty awesome. You don't find many guitarists that will go from playing a shred lick, to jazz scales, to rumba flamenco in 16 measures and make it sound good ... His talent is really undeniable.

yeah, the band is mainstream now ... all mainstream shit has an image, but as long as the music is still good and as long as they still get the crowds moving at shows, then who fucking cares?

you my friend are wrong and right. they USED TO BE an awesome band. once he blew out his voice and tried to imply that he stopped screamin bcuz "the whole mteal/screamin thing is lame"...thats when they lost it. yeah, gates is a good guitar player, but m shadows is prolly the SHITTIEST singer ever. great screamer, bullshit-ass vocalist. thats how it is. they have heads that are way too damn big, bcuz the way the got popular was thru their old music and fans and they ditched that for popularity. fuck a7x, fuck the fact that they ditched who they were musically for fame. sell out band case fuckin closed.
