JDM jeep cherokee?

ok so i'm on the way home from work and the dude in front of my is driving this RHD jeep cherokee. now i know jeep makes the mail trucks and they are RHD but this was'nt a mail truck. it was a late 80's-early 90's doo doo brown cherokee. i've talked to some other people and we can't think of any explanation for this. does anybody have any idea what this is about? do they even have cherokee's in japan????

oh yeah i know this thread is worthless with out pics but i was in the work truck and had no camera with me.

It is an old mail truck. Rural route carriers could order them from Jeep RHD. Thats all.

yeah, theres a shitload of those now a days... i dont see a point in driving a RHD vehicle in a right hand street and having to do crazy hard RHD passes, and overtaking.... unless its a skyline GTR

Alternatively, Jeep does export their vehicles to Japan. I'm not sure if they're RHD or not, but if they are, then this Jeep really could have been JDM.

that'd be like an oxymoran...JDM jeep...LOL. but hey i seen a RHD conversion on a colbalt SS in a mag i got today. why? i have no clue.

Yeah you post an interesting question. I don't know if a Jeep made for the Japanese market would be considered JDM or JFM, F being for Foreign. :confused:

Ive seen a right hand drive volvo like an 89 or something. it came frome europe, the lady driving it was here living with her husband who was sent here to work from europe for 2 years and the company shipped the car for them. It could have been a similar story with the jeep.

yea there are 3 here in augusta...and you can order them here from the dealership........the funniest thing is most people don't know that 90% of all jeep overseas were diesel.....they just now started selling them here in the us ..... i.e. the "new" jeep liberty diesel...not new over there.....oh well.......btw i saw a 1998 rhd type-r here in town tonight with the h.i.d. front end....not sure if it's real or not....i'll find out soon enough.....

The same. But when I went to pay or pick the food up I would nor: 1- look like I was trying to escape a burning car. 2- Confuse the cashier. 3- Jab my hip, stomach or side on the e-brake. 4- all of the above.
