The Mercedes Benz Dealership in Downtown Columbus has one in their showroom. We went there to buy my mom a new mercedes and I found myself drooling over the supercar in the showroom. I took pics with my cameraphone they will be up later on tonight. And the pictures DO NOT do the car the justice it deserves.

Well shit, those stock parts made the sentra pin the 1.5bar boost gauge, by 2800rpm. Looks like nissan cant handle stock benz parts.

It still falls short of the Carrera GT. :) Also, you CANNOT register it in Georgia. I bet nobody knew that. :)

Styling doesn't appeal to me one bit.

Seems as if the styling dept. added as much vents as possible so it would be classified as a "super car."

they can call it whatever the fuk they want.. super car.. super duper car .. whatever.. If you pay $400,000.00 for one i sure as hell would give some label of that nature

Actually, 617hp to the engine, not to the wheels. Big difference there. :)

for some reason it cannot be registered in Georgia, Maryland, Missouri, Virginia, or Wisconsin....

that's all it says....so there's no explanation for it that I can see.

Just what I read on some website

Why's that?

Supposidly you cannot register in GA because the exhaust exits in front of the cockpit. I am trying to find the GA code on it, but you get the idea. There is supposidly 6 states that this affects: Georgia, Maryland, Missouri, Virginia, Vermont and Wisconsin

wait, it says trunk is considered part of the passenger compartment. How do SRT-10s pass?

the srt-10, roush mustang, or any car modified to have side exhaust should be illegal in that case

Perhaps they overlook the "trunk" aspect? I think that they are mainly concerned with the location in relation to the cockpit.

im pretty sure that if it came stock with and exhaust somewhere other than exiting the ass end then it would be legal...

I saw one of those at a Benz dealership in Brussels. It was the nicest dealership I've ever seen. They had the SLR McLaren in the showroom, then in the room nextdoor there was the stretch version of the Maybach, and downstairs they had one of each model Benz that they sold in Europe.

Pictures truly dont do the Mclaren or the Maybach justice and seeing them both under the same room blew my mind.

Sorry, but if I had half a million to spend on a car, it would NOT be spent on a Benz that is, in my opinion, fugly. The rear end is hot, but then you go around the the front and it looks like a clusterfuck of four different designer's ideas all mashed together. If I was gonna look at spending a half mil on a car, I'd look into the prancing horse... God bless the prancing horse. ;)

2006 F430.. same price as benz, but with so much more class, and better looks, too!

The MSRP for an '06 F430 is anywhere from $170-220k depending on coupe vs convertible. The SLR is more than 2x the price of Ferrari F430...

My thing is, besides the body being made of Carbon Fiber, about 10hp, and the novelty of the SLR how does Mercedes really justify the $200,000 price increase over the SL65 which is actually a better looking car to me.. I know there are other differences between the two but I dont see a $200,000 difference. I guess once you get into that price range it doesn't matter either way, personally I would take a Carrera GT over the SLR.

The pictures look cool though and thanks for posting them
