View Full Version : How to Remove Silencer from a new Apexi N1 Exhaust

I just had my brand new apexi n1 one exhaust installed on my 99 coupe....whats the easiest way to the take the sliencer off?

There is probably a couple of screws on the side of the tip that you have to take out and then you should be able to just pull it out i think. You might need to get something to help pry it out with but it should just pop out.

yea i took the screw out...but its a bitch to yank out......

are you sure you want to take it out lol. i have an N1 evo that i cant get a silencer for and i get pulled over all the time.

take out the screws and grab it with some plyers and pull it out

find a stronger friend? spray some pb blaster and use a vise grip.then proceed to register at your local gym...

thats not hte issue...its really in there..i called apexi and they make a special tool thats a foot long with a hook at the end that will yank it out

since we were banging on the exhaust the sliencer actually went back a little bit...we'll try again at the shop

take a small screw driver and put it in the hole from the screw that locks it in, wiggle it a bit to get a small lip of the silencer out, grab that with plier and pull a bit. and then rotate around the exhaust and pull, u got to do it evenly or it wont come out at all. it will take a while without the tool tho. i had an n1 as well.

thanks for the post....the thing is ..not s ure if we can try that...we bent hte lip of the silencer up so that we can pull on it iwht some vise grips...but it won't come out....somehow one of the guys knocked the silencer in...and its about 2" in further...i got a foot long bar wiht like a hook at the end..i will try that

If that doesnt work. Cut it off, then take a hammer put it inside, and hit the top of tha hammer with another blunt object. And weld back on.
