Agent Orange was meant to kill people and instead its fucking up there children i dont know which is worse to kill 1000 people now or affect 1000 people for 30 years. I wonder if the US knew the lasting effects Agent Orange would have.

Actually, if memory serves me correct, Agent Orange was a defoliage agent meant and designed to kill plants and NOT people. They used it in order to counter jungle/guerilla warfare which was never encountered by the U.S. before. It was thought, and it makes sense, that if the enemy did not have a thick jungle to hide in that they'd be easier to fight. Remember, this was a war being fought in their backyard so they had fought and trained in that terrain. The U.S. forces had never done that.
