View Full Version : question about a turbo II.....

i want to know if this is worth it....i can get a great shaped turbo II s4 and the only thing wrong is a blown engine....everything including tranny is in good shape.....first question is $1000 worth it? second question....how hard is it to drop a new tII motor in it? third question.....can anyone help me do the engine installation? :D :D :D

I'd think $1k might be high unless the body/interior are all complete and in great condition. Depending on who you know, it could cost between $1500-$3000 for a new/rebuild motor and installation.

For $1K the car better be in near perfect shape, inside and out. When I was getting S4 TIIs, I would pay $250-$400 for on in ok shape if the motor was bad.
If you are mechanically inclined, you can rebuild it yourself. Otherwise, be prepared to spend a little bit.

everything is already wired and the engine is hoisted out...all i have to do is drop in another tII and wire it up to the car.....the car is super clean everything works....

I would recommend a rebuild rather than a used motor, depending on where you get it. $1000 may be a lot depend on how the body is. I paid 2200 for my 87 with a perfect body, but the motor only lasted like 20k after I bought it. Good luck though, they are fun cars.
