Ok, here is what happened so far. We posted his picture on racingjunk.com and the information of the car of when it was stolen and where it was stolen. This morning I got a email from a guy who knew something about the car and who was talking to the police. Just a minute ago, what we thought was the police was the same guy who emailed me this morning. He had gotten information from a lady that he knows from a photography club. apparently this lady is having some marital issues with her husband who stole the car and ratted him out and the 3 other guys who stole the car to the guy who just called. She gave him all there names, social security number, and place of address. 2 of the guys own a muffler shop and one who owns a body shop. She was also able to grab the registraion that was still in the car and we will have a photocopy emailed to us in a few minutes. So when we get this email verifying it is his, someone is getting there ass beat tonight. my boss is on the phone with his buddies telling them to get ready for a drive tonight. will post more in a little.

Well we just recieved the pictures and it sure enough is his car. The fucked up thing about it is. When the car was stolen my boss went to a guy who offered my boss 27k for the car and a trade the day before it was stolen and confronted him about taking the car. The guy said he didnt and offered to help my boss look for his car the whole day riding around on his 4 wheeler. By the end of the day my boss bought him a beer for helping him look all day and come to find out it was the same dude who took the car. Here are the pictures, i will not post a picture of the guy because he lives here in Georgia and we are afraid of it getting around (which i highly doubt). The police are on the way now to the body shop of where the car is being held and if there is a white camaro they are impounding it and taking the guy to jail.

Apparently, the local sherriff's department went there last night to his house and question the guy. When the police left the guy had enough time to move the car to another county. So the GBI came up empty handed. The GBI called us and told us what happened and that they were waiting for the sherriffs deptment to come out and get the information from last night. Well, while the GBI is waiting for the police the dudes wife comes and hands the GBI the stolen registration.Thats all they needed to arrest the guy. So he is on his way to jail right now. They also got a tip on where the car has been moved, so they are on there way now. There have been no other arrests but we have a feeling there will be. I will keep you guys posted.

Yeah don't. Depending on how the rear is set up in the '64 if you put an engine with too much torque in you will snap the rear set up. Not a pretty picture, we did it on a '63. Had to pull the 350 out and go back with the 305.

You can keep the 327 in there if you want, Summit has a fuel injection system that can be mated up. Otherwise you can get you a 305 out of a late 80's early 90's car. Not a lot of torque and still have decent power. Otherwise find you a 350 out of an early 90's fullsize. Mild torque, decent fuel milage.

The 350's in a vette are built compared to a 350 out of say a 91 1500 truck. The vette motor will have more torque and run a risk of snappin somethin in the rearend. I would say just see about doin a fuel injection set up on the 327, especially if it is a numbers matching car.

It would be cheaper to do a carbed setup than fuel injected. Thought about getting rid of the buick and stepping up to a nova, chevelle, or fox body and do a nice carbed engine. They are also easier to tune than a fuel injected car.

True, but Ricky wanted fuel injected. ;) That and a hydro car cannot handle a lot of torque with out breaking something on the rearend.

yeah, just giving him the option cause if you dont know shit about a engine and how it works, a fuel injected car is going to be a big pain in the ass and costly. Believe me, my full stand alone for the buick is killing me.

Oh I agree. Stand alones are pain in the ass and expensive but it is always up to the car owner what they want. Either way it will be a sweet ride once he is done with it.

Yeah that is what he is wanting to do but unless that rearend is reinforced like Fort Knox then he runs a risk of snapping something on the rearend. Even then there are still several weak points that can break. Now if it was not juiced then yeah an LS6 would be awesome in there.

True you can subframe it but it is the whole rear section is what becomes the weak link. To hit the back high or do a respectable three wheel you can't have something with a lot of torque, It will cause that rearend to "wrap" itself up and begin breaking things that will ruin the car. We thought that as well on a '63, Hit three wheel and gave it some gas going through downtown and the left rear broke causing the car to slam back down. It was not pretty. :(

there are no other body panels, gauges, or interior. he sold most of that off.

dam, put a front end and a seat on there and some other tweaks and take that car on PINKS and see if you can get another one...lol , that engine looks sweet. i want it in my civic. lol

The 350's in a vette are built compared to a 350 out of say a 91 1500 truck. The vette motor will have more torque and run a risk of snappin somethin in the rearend. I would say just see about doin a fuel injection set up on the 327, especially if it is a numbers matching car.

can't go wrong with the 327. If it was me I would just clean it up, do a wire tuck on the engine and add some chrome to make it pop. Either way it will be sweet.
