1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS
4-Cyl. 16V DOHC Coupe 2D
FWD, Auto. Transmission
166,000 miles
AC, Tilt wheel, cruise control
2 owners, both female driven
tinted windows
Never wrecked, a couple of small fender-benders in rear, plastic bumper
dented, rear tail light has been replaced, small paint chip and surface
rust
(dime sized) on rear corner
Regularly maintained (tune ups, CV joints, gaskets, etc.)
Tail pipe broken, fixed with pipe clamp
CPU replaced in 2000
Majority of miles were put on commuting to and from Athens, 2000-2004
Timing chain, water pump, thermostat replaced in 2004
Brand new radiator put in around Sept. 2004
Idle speed is not stable (diagnosed as idle speed motor.... or
something),
works well without AC on
Slow oil leak (doesn't leak out onto driveway, though)
Newer tires
New brake pads
The car worked pretty well before the transmission broke. Before it
went
out, a shop had recommended rebuilding it (replacing the "soft" parts).
The car has sit for over a year in garage, then outside since December
2004.
In that time, the brakes have gone out (fluid?) and the battery has
died.
So, I don't know if it can be cranked at all. For at least six months
it
would crank and run smoothly. No maintence has been done in that time
(gas,
oil, fluids all old).
the car is very dirty in the pictures, so the paint is not as bad as it looks but there is oxidation on the roof and fender tops (no body damage)
