I got good friends that work there, im already over my 72 hours take it back no worry thing, but i can still take it back and not have to pay a penny for taking it back after almost a week, my dad wanted me to get something cheaper, and all, so yeah the s2k is the only one i would take it back for.

Slowboy

B i am not getting no damn wrx. the insurance on that thing is 350 a month, S2000 is 290 a month,m my truck is 250 a month, again s2000 is hottness,

now can someone tell me if it has HID's, damn i want some.

Curt

Sticker price on S2k is 19,995, with a new windshield, cause this one has a dent crack, or whatever.

All S2K's come stock with HID's... and actually some of the best HID's on the market.

However... $20k is quite steep for a 5 year old S2K w/ that many miles... very very steep. Better step up with some negotiating skills.

been that way for years. maybe it's a Katrina flood car... I wouldn't put it past them. hell when I was a kid my mom was gonna to buy a car and the sales man wanted her to use a FAKE SOCIAL SECURITY # in order to get a better car/intrest rate!
you'd do really good to buy the car from a private individual. you wouldn't have to pay sales tax!

yeah, they messed up my sister when she was tryna buy a new car, the manager was stringing her along to buy a car, then said they cant sell it to her when she brought in a 4,000 deposit.
plus u've had homeboys work in the detailing area as well as servicing dept, hearda lot of stories.

kbb.com suggested retail value for a excellent condition sk2 is 20,2XX so i should at least get them down to 18,9XX but i will do my best, shit, I talked them down on my 05 colorado crew cab, full loaded, from 30,100 to 25,300 out the door, and instead of 650 month payment, i made it 460 a month,
My dad can haggle better then me so since hes coming with me tonight i'll probably get a good deal,

CurtOnly $5k off last years model? No reason you couldn't have gone up to $5k lower...you can get up to 1/3 off the price if you pull the right strings.

Check the trade-in value on the S2k and work up from there, guessing around $15k so i bet you can get it for under $17k if you really wanted to ;)

Shit man i forgot, he left town and i had not talked to him yet, I'll make sure i get on it.

O yeah i looked at the S2k during lunch, the window in the back is torn, HONDA charges 235 plus tax and labor, to replace. also, driver seat has slight rip, like maybe a puncture from a pen or something not bad, and the tires need replacing,. So i figure, i aint paying close to 20 grand, i would not pay 18 for it, maybe 15 or 16.

not worried about financing, i just dont know what to shoot for when negotiating, like should i tell them to fix, all the problems, or just take alot of money off and I take care of everything, such as tires and all. what price should i negotiate from?
15,000 or 16000

its a pretty car though, the only thing wrong with the exterior is the rear window.

Curtno matter what you need to have it checked over by a mechanic...it's well for the $75 or so to take it to a Honda dealership and have it look it over.

Make them replace the tires, at their discount they will be able to get them for less than half what you will pay to get them replaced. I'd ask them to get the window repalced with a glass one too.

too lazy to read through pages so i'm just gonna chime in on what i read.

all s2k comes with HIDs. all 6 spd manual. if it's an 01 with 50k miles, and you're paying 20k, you're getting jipped. i sold my 02 with 15k miles (clean title etc.) for $20k in sept. 05. ofcourse dealers charge more, but you shouldn't be paying over 18 for it if that.

short shifter? stock s2k shifters 'feels' like it's shorter because they are compared to almost every car out there. there are however few companies that make short shifters. if you find that it's the axial brand (by ricks2k.com), and you don't like it...i'll trade you =P

check for any wear/tear/holes on the covertible top. you'll get a hole regardless of how well you maintain it. check for small holes near the drives seat headrest area (in the corners) both inside and out. if they are worn out, you might want to consider a new top $450-500 with a glass window (02+ models) unlike the plastic (00-01 models).

by getting an 01, the car will drive and sound bit more aggressive compared to 02+ cars. there's more 'rawness' to it if you can imagine that. it feels more like a sports car made only to be driven in the twisties- and careless about comfort.

make sure tranny is in good condition. make sure no clutch slipping. i think there were few minor recalls on miscellaneous stuff (spark plugs maybe?)so check with your dealership on it.

on the taillights, the red portion fades to pinkish tone over-time. also, check for any leaks or condensation. if the headlight has orange reflectors, it's oem. if not, it's been popped-opened. if this is the case, check for any leaks. good way would be to see it after it rained. it should fog up. if not, good.

hmmm...tires. make sure you have good rubber on there. some people put piece of shit rubber on these cars, you drive like you should and you wreck. make sure that the tire size is 205/225 if they're oem bridgestone s02 (i highly doubt it), if it's any other brand, it should be 205/245. if they tell you i'm on crack...the owner obviously had no focking clue about his car.

after you buy the car, join www.s2katlanta.com
if you need more help, people over there would kill to help -including me =)

good luck on your purchase if you haven't made it already.

i think there were few minor recalls on miscellaneous stuff (spark plugs maybe?)so check with your dealership on it.I remember that ish, saw a couple near new blocks sitting in crates at the dealership to be sent back (after months and months they never were???)...Apparently the holes for the spark plugs were tapped incorrectly hince the recall. I wanted one so bad to play with but tranny's were several $1000 dollars.
