Ok guys and ladies. I am seriously contemplating on trading my car in for a 4 door because the RSX cannot under any circumstance fit a car seat on the little plastic piece in the back seat lol, and I was wondering what vehicles would you guys choose. I would like something with a little get-up-and-go in it. thanks in advance though.

four door eh....

I gotcha man. Trade cars with me.

on a serious note (really though trade with me. please.)

get a used G35 sedan for high price, or go with a v6 camry (230 hp).

SRT4

ALVIN

Either one would do. I mean I am looking at Evos, STis, 4 door gti's aka golf with a turbo, etc. I am also looking at a lot of AWD cars like previously stated with the first two. But I mean any car would do also. Been looking at some BMWs and Infinitys, but it all boils down to what the fiancee wants lol.

Hmm... only the best for her!

how about an avalon?

ALVIN
03-19-2006, 07:37 PM
Yea I hear ya on the new Maxima 3.5s. I always see this black one on pleasant hill with some bright ass blue HIDs...I can see that fucker from like 5 miles behind me. They look really good stock too.

Yea man most deff. and only the best for the daughter too. Want her to be safe. It got me thinking about a vehicle change when I saw a lady in a damn chevy truck slam into a chrysler caravan and the mini van was completely crushed. Looked like a damn slinky. I know a 4 door car is a little less safe than a mini van but damn safer than a little ass RSX. I also thought about trucks, but I drive to atlanta every day and that is a killer on me anyway...paying $50 a week on gas now.

You can have my avalon then. We'll trade.

I had this same decision when my son was born, suprisingly the G35 Coupe is very roomy for a child in the back seat.. now I never did a rear facing child seat back there but my son loved road trips in his car seat when I had my G.

The STi is a nice choice as well, safe and a good amount of room for a child. Always figured an Altima wouldn't be a bad choice either, but honestly you'll find that after a while it wont matter how fast the car goes cause safety will be in your mind first.

ALVIN

nice choices...I've wanted a G35 coupe cuz I test drove one and man do they have a lot of room front and back seat both...looks as if one can fit a rear facing car seat in it. I will only be doing the rear facing until my daughter is old enough and is big enough to face forward. Safety also plays in my decision and i've found that a lot of the cars like STis and EVO have a good crash test rating. I've also found that a G35 has a good crash rating.

ALVIN
03-19-2006, 08:55 PM
never looked at the ratings on srt4s lol...i do like them though. beefed up neons man lol, yet look very good and sound awesome lol.

now I have to figure out how much of a trade-in value I have on my 40k 2005 Base RSX lol. I'd be happy if they pay off the 7 k that I have left to pay on it and at least take off 2k.

ALVIN
03-19-2006, 08:57 PM
well I'm shooting for the $40-50k range for now.

Let's see:

- Lexus 4drs are VERY nice and will last you the life of the car
- Nissan Maxima/Altima will work as well

Agreed :goodjob:

I know the feeling, the birth of my son and the need for ample car seat space (take into consideration toddler stage too- bigger car seats, more room for child as he/she grows and kicks your seatback ;) ) was a large part why I chose my GS, and b/c it had a blower :D. Safety/reliability was high priority (Lexus has now ranked highest in Vehicle Dependability for the 11th consecutive year), but like you stated, I still wanted a little get up and go, and I found that even the stock GS is quick. There's also plenty aftermarket support if you're considering modding. You can start here (http://www.l-tunedparts.com/index.php) just to get an idea.

For well under $40k you could get a Cert. Pre-Owned GS430 fully loaded, nav.,etc. and have money left over for Intake/ECU, exhaust, and TQ conv. to bump up the 300hp V8 a little more. Now if you're in the market for new, the IS350 is sick and quick as hell too! But you'll definitely be up around the $40k mark. I just saw this pic earlier tonight

I had a lexus es300 that i threw some 17's on and loved it. That was 3 years ago though. But I never had a problem with it and I had it years! Wish i would of kept but i had to get a SUV for more pratical reasons. the new Lexus cars are pimp, have a lot of safety features. I suggest just test drive the hell out of bunch of cars. There are a cluster of dealerships over there in Alpheretta that could make it easy to look around.

I agree with you Julio...We might end up selling it back to Cadillac...they offered her $55k last time we were up there for an oil change. I have been looking at the new 3series BMWs I love their body lines and have been wanting to test drive, but have no time. I'm looking to have something a little more classy anyway because I'm going into accounting and that is what i'm majoring in.

or you can get 3 older big body cars like one Grand National, one Typhoon, one e34 M5, and maybe still have some change left over to buy a couple of s13's :)
