this might be a dumb question but i am just wondering if a T25 from a SR20 spools/reaches max boost any slower than a DSM T25? like i said this might be a dumb question but I'm a total noob when it comes to turbo's.

I believe the sr20 t25 is bigger than the dsm t25. So it should spool a little later than the dsm, but it shouldnt be a huge difference and will still spool quickly.

i just trying to find out if i want to use my DSM T25. i can get my hands on a SR20 one that is why i am asking.

I want something that is still small but dont run out of boost before i hit redline. (i'm only gonna be running about 7-8psi)

it will maintain boost until your redline. dsm t25 and nissan t25 have different flanges.

So your happy with your T25? And what kind of #'s are you putting down?

on the sr the t25 runs outta breath just north of about 6800rpm, thats where it stops pulling hard. between about 2800rpm and 6500rpm it a great little turbo. the t28 has a bit more huff but needs another 100rpm to kick in, of the 2 id recommend the t28.

the dsm t25 on a d-series is to small for me. im in the process of upgrading as we speak. it pulls real good around 3k-5700 but loses steam past that.

you can fix the fall at the end by using a boost controller that allows boost -RPM correction, such as the E-01 programmer for EManage

but yea, expect falls of about 1psi for your boost levels

on the sr theres nothing up there anyway cause the torque peak is way back at 5500rpm, on a stock motor.

So with a boost controler i can make the boost last longer? amybe up to 7k or at least close?

dsm t25 wont bolt up to sr will it? not sure but i know evo turbo are twin scroll, not sure about older dsm. just something to make sure of before u buy one. and yea sr factory motor kinda pointless to go past redline, its a tq void up there.

im tryin to figure that out now. the big 28 off a dsm has the same trim level as a gtir t28, which is almost as good as the potato

NO!!! read my post. the DSM t25 and nissan t25 have DIFFERENT FLANGES!!

btw, a rpm dependant boost controller with a t25 seems like a stupid idea to me because the boost controller would cost more than the difference in the price of a turbo that can flow in high rpms and your t25!

its not that your turbo cant hold the boost, a t25 will easily hold 7psi until redline. its that it doesnt flow enough CFMs in high rpms to feel like it keeps pulling.

yes, i believe they are very similiar with the exception that the dsm is 90* degrees different than the nissan.
