I've been reading some reviews and it's kinda looking like a left-wing propaganda film. of course I could be wrong. so when someone sees it let us know. thanks

frm all the stuff i've seen for this movie, it's going to either be really good or really suck...1 of the two extremes

the movie kicked ass

more than just kicked ass

as for propanganda, I suppose you could say that, but tahts a bunch of bullshit. The same shit happens in the comic books, and in the book, so fuck the reviewers about politics.

As for my opinion, I would go see it again. I want to get one of those masks. "Remember remember the 5th of November" is stuck in my head all the time. The plot develops pretty nicely, and the acting was pretty good too - not wooden at all. V's language is also really like - eloquent? so it really grabs your attention cause as :gay: as it sounds, its really poetic in a sense, but yet it totally makes sense as if you were talking normally ( by poetic I mean using big and poetic like words )

those who think it sucked? do the world a favor - castrate yourself, cut off your nuts and feed them to the dogs, all to help improve the gene pool of this world

if you've seen the Count of Monte Cristo and enjoyed it, you will love this film :goodjob:

Best revenge movie i've seen in years... well written, acting, natilie portman (best role she ever played since the Professional) fucking beautiful, & message was awesome.

Great flick 2 BIG THUMBS UP!!!

i just saw it.
holy fuck.. this movie IMHO sucks.
its like English 101 all over again with buncha controversial stuff added.
I will however, say the movie did have a good story line and SOME good scenes.
This movie is definitely for the "Deep-Thinkers."

Its a movie where you dont just watch it, but you have to comprehend the whole situation. Definitely like the book 1986 (i think thats the book..)

This movie was probably the best movie I have seen in a very long time. It was so interesting and had so much feeling in it that there were so many thoughts going through my mind as I watched it. Very very good movie. :goodjob:

I saw it and liked it a lot, very similar to the first matrix in several ways. Hugo weaving played the part very well imo.

I was just disappointed by the fight scenes. you think by the commercial that this movie was action packed. there was only 2 fight scenes in the whole movie. the story line is old . if you wanted to see a movie with a similar plot but tons more action, rent " equilibrium" , that's a badass movie.

Your obviously an idiot and should of not of watched the movie. Are you too stupid to not comprehend english? V explained his whole reasoning behind kidnapping her and doing all that to her.

The movie was fucking amazing. It was suuuuuuuuper good. Pretty much, anybody who is an idiot will not like the movie, thats how i see it. And it seems pretty much true :D

and you're obviously a douch bag. I didn't say he didn't explain his so called reason. I mean't it was stupid along with, his montague in the begining, his fucking mask, and the a bald Portman standing in the rain holding her hands up crying. :blah: .
it was :gay: and cheesy. hell that movie was sooo cheesy I didn't need the cheese that came with my nachos
just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them wrong. just because you have bad taste in movies doesn't mean I'm stupid. you are obviously the idiot here. :

I loved it personaly. Its more of an intellectual movie. The dialogue, the plot it was all cerebral and pretty uplifting. Touches on alot of subjects that would be considered taboo in the old days and now. Upheavals... anarchy... fascism... it was a different approach/chosen story to adapt to a live action movie.

People who look for outright action or straight to the point dialogue... I suggest you dont watch.

Excellent. i would pay to go see it again. i loved the whole story, the cause they were fighting for and how he helped Evey.

i've thought about going to watch it.. cause it almost looks good... but at the same time it looks awful... and that mask!!!!???? wtf??? why such a gay mask?

for those who have seen it.. what is the reason for such an awful mask?

Nippon
03-21-2006, 06:12 PM
The mask was in rememberance of a freedom fighter that was martyred on the 5th of November. So it was a sort of symbolic, taking upon the cross deal. Its pretty cool really. But everything is very well explained in the movie. You just need a VERY good attention span. The dialogue is so in depth that if you miss something said... you just might be clueless.

I thought this movie was bad ass, it is very similiar to Equilibrium

I was kind of hoping for more action, and by the previews I thought Natalie Portman was actually gonna kick some ass...but god damn she is hot even when she is bald!

oh and someone mentioned V's speech to be poetic...he was actually using a form of poetry that I can not remember the name of but it is the repitition of consonant sounds in the same line just some FYI :)

Alliteration.

V was definitely a hell of a movie. Nice change of pace from a lot of movies that require little to no thought to watch and understand. I was very impressed with the movie, especially by the amount of thought it must've taken to write that story in the first place, then to translate that into a movie. Gotta love how dedicated he was to getting his job done.

Excellent movie. :bigok:

hehe great part of the movie

Evey Hammond: Who--who are you?

V: Who? Who is but the form following the function of what... and what I am is a man in a mask.

Evey Hammond: I can see that.

V: Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation, I'm merely remarking on the paradox of asking a masked man who he is.

Evey Hammond: oh...

V: Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-à-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

Evey Hammond: Are you like a crazy person?

The funny thing about this is they tried to say that the "president" in this movie was a radical conservation when he was actually more socailist and\or facist.

I had never heard for "The Gunpowder Plot" before. That is interesting and cool that they made a movie with that much background.

anyone who thinks the movie is all propaganda blah blah blah is a moron

its based off a book - which is based off a freakin COMIC BOOK - so dont start giving up some political bullshit - it was just a damn good movie - and if you think it holds some sort of political propanda, then you're just lame, especially if you hold that as a reason to not like the movie

does it have political connetations? undoubtedly so - but its just for the plot of the movie, and nothing more
