Brasso. It works wonders for scratches. Get some brasso, a nice buffing cloth and if you have one, a dremel with a soft buffer head. If not, just do it by hand.

If you are scared, take it to a jewelry repair place and ask if they can do anything with it, lots of people have tried this and it runs from anywhere 5-10 bucks, and they basically buff the scratches out like they do with watches.

why would you want to sand it and make it worse?

if he used a fine enough grit, it could get the scratches out.

Seriously though, try brasso first. It did wonders for mine, and like I said, if you have a dremel with a soft buffer attachment it does a great job.

well if you are going to sand it you are going to need to use a buffing compound to fill in all the sanding lines.

lol might sound funny but, sand with 600 grit, 1500 grit, then 2000+ grit, then use toothpaste use your thumb and rub it in... then take a soft cloth and wipe it off... i used to mod xbox's and thats what i did to clear out the jewel on top
