A buddy of mine is looking for a car under $1500 preferably 5 speed. Please, no shells or non-running cars.

Must be complete and running, nothing needed mechanically wise.
Also, leaning more towards imports, but will consider some domestics.

Post away.

You don't know what? I know it's a difficult concept for a honda owner to understand since you don't have any. :gay: :jerkit: It's "torque" and look it up, those are the numbers from the factory. It is very torquey.

Ill give you that man. I just looked up the numbers and seem to be accurate. Im pretty sure a EF or EG with a LS/V swap would still kick that cars ass IMO. Those numbers dont mean shit because its a heavy ass car.

Next time look the numbers up before commenting. An EF or EG with a swap may very well be able to outrun it. If you have one, I'd gladly run you from a dead stop in it. It's a heavy car, but I wouldn't say "those numbers don't mean shit". And especially for the price, this is some cheap speed....show me a honda/acura for $1500 that is this quick. A smaller pulley and an exhaust hack will bump the hp and torque up even more for next to no money. I should have a thread up later today.

and sorry, the only reason i asked bout the 315 lbs-ft is cause 5.0's dont even have that stock and i was inferring if you had modded it. thanks though for clarifying.

actually you dont even need a Swap Honda... Is a Slow car due to weight. The power to weight ratio on that car sucks. Is a 15 to 16 second car, thats not quick.
EX civic are running that with 1/2 the power.

I'd run either way. Actually the ratios are pretty short....they have to be for it pull like it does with the highway gear (stock) that's in the rear end. It has an 8.8 rear end so you can put a mustang gear in it also.

I'm not a domestic guy, but I've always liked these cars.

:rly: You have a $1500 EX civic that you'd like to run against it? You can always strip some weight, but I wouldn't have to in order to outrun an ex civic. It's in the 15's stock, which you'll have a hard time doing in an ex civic.:lmfao:

Weird Ive seen EX running high 15's/low 16's all day with 127 BHP. But anyways... A EX or a SUPER COUPE are still slow.. Nope I dont have an EX or Honda for that matter. But facts are facts.

Good luck on sale.

No thanks on that one. I pick my races carefully. If I still had my swapped subaru I'd give it a shot.

Whoa!! how did we go from racing $1500 cars to Audi's and swapped Subies?? but yeahnumbers wise, the tbird against the audi would be close.

I dunno, it happens :) . The audi should be a lot faster, I'd hope. I know the tbird isn't a race car or anything, but for $1500 it's hard to beat. I guess just consider all these posts free bumps, maybe this guy can find a car.
