I'm curious about the rate cap... I have most of the qualifications except for the college but i have years of experience in the field... I have a great job right now at CNN and not really looking for another job but always keeping my eyes open. I'm a network engineer here so...

I didn't see any Certs required on CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, JNCIA-FWV or IP, EIGRP, Serial, Frame Relay, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet, and OSPF so this just sounds like a Normal IT Guy position not a Network Engineer . I have a guy for you if that is the case

That is a list of requirements. Funny thing is they will probably only want to pay $40K for all that.

Which is more than I am making now...

While still in HS I went through the Cisco networking acadamy, had other things to worry bout so I never ending up get a CCNA, but I have been playing with big networks since I was about 16 which was 4 yrs back...but I cant find a job doing that sort of thing just because I dont have paper that says I know my stuff...

Keep looking man. I would much rather talk to someone, or your current manager and see you know what your doing than see a CCNA certification. Anyone can memorize answers, or study braindumps to pass a test. I've met to many MSCE's, and CCNA's that really don't know anything.
