Zx7 (look inside to find out what it is)

OK people. in the last two weeks me and a buddy have been busting balls (in my time off, which is 2 days a week) to get this car put together. We are still waiting on a drive shaft, but its pretty much ready to go short of a little final touches on the wiring.

The engine - 1987 Jdm (sarcasm "its JDM tight Yo" end sarcasm) nissan vg30e, 5 speed tranny.
Stock power 160ish hp 180ish lbft (13b NA 130ish HP, 140ish lbft )
Engine Weight about 500lbs with tranny (13b NA ????)

The car - 1987 Mazda Rx7 NA 5 speed ( geee I wonder what happend to Cause THIS car to need an engine )
Curb weight about 2600ish ( z31 300zx about 3200ish )
Suspension, floating semi trailing arm ( z31 solid trailing arm )
rear gearing 4.10:1 ( z31 NA about 3.70 )

Now, Add a solid mounting kit. Add a short ram intake system with the best dyno proven filter for the motor. pull off the power steering and AC pumps along with all brakets. Strip down the engine bay to nothing but metal and the bare essentials. add plugs, wires and a coil. upgraded throttle body. and a few other tidbits.

So, from the get go this car will be better and faster then both stock cars.

will do! so far its looking good, just gotta get the subharness for the alternator and battery wired into the rx7 body harness, add a start that clears the mount kit and put in the driveshaft and shes ready to go!

Just curious, but why?

well, my buddy had an 87 300zx, and he wrecked it. we looked for a suitable donor body, but couldnt find one under 1500. so we looked into other cars to put his motor in. well my roomie had this 87 rx7 sitting with a bad rotory (geeeeee I wonder what happend) well he onyl wanted 450 for the car, so then we looked into seeing how it would mount up etc. found a mount kit for 600, so we weighed the options, and then bought everything :) the rx7 is a lighter chasis then the 300, the stock 300 na motor is more power then the stock NA rotory, and if we turbo it then it gets even better. so its a win win win win, situation.

ah ok makes since, i know 2 guys who have the v8 2nd gens just was a little confused on what you were trying to do, makes since though :)
