View Full Version : How does this happen in a performance shop business?

I have a question reguarding business ettiquette and protocol.
What events could possible transpire for an outcome, such as the following,
to happen?
If consumer "X" takes a vehicle to shop "Y" and is getting a "swap" what type of events could take place where customer "X" after 1 year, and "an amount above 10,000 dollars later, gets the vehicle back as a "shell"? Is there any type of situation that could justify a person, receiving in the end, less than he started with and paying a shop that type of money? What is your take on this vague outline?

WTF so you mean customer "X" paid ten g's to have his stock engine pulled???

It is a little more complicated then that. It was a swap, the original motor was taken out, and a new motor was going back in with rods and pistons. This is the short version. But yes, the original bill escalated to 16gs.

I am just curious what a customer could have done to receive the vehicle in worse condition then it was initially, after paying 10gs. I really would like an explanation of what could have possibly happened.

Sometimes you really have to get on a businesses ass in order to get what you need done. I work at a drycleaners and Ive seen customers who are not satisfied with the work get money back for stuff that wasnt processed how they wanted it. I hate to say it but its sometimes the customers responsibility to make sure that a shop gets the work done right. If its not done right then they have to make sure they are properly reimbursed. Also if the shop knows they are wrong then this guy could probably just send a letter from a lawyer and spook them enough to get his money back.

damn bro that shit is real fuckd' up and to be honest, nothing but dumb shit could have happened. someone underestimated hugely or someone fuckd' up some parts and is expecting you to pay for it but none the less you should deff. call a couple of other shops and expalin what has happend and then possibly go to the BBB, there is nothing in this world I can think of that would have those kind of charges for what they did. 16g's is a shit load of money even just to have a new engine with rods and pistons, they must be chargin like $200.oo an hour for labor or something. god damn.

What you should do is have your "friend" call the shop back. I was there today when they tried calling him and had to leave a message. They are trying to settle it with him, but he has to call back first.

i'm sorry but this is just ridiculous....i don't know anyone from said shop personally, nor have i honestly met them, but from all the evidence provided, along with the fact that his name on the invoice was "money tree", which is an insult period, makes me think that said shop is in the wrong...if they are in the wrong, i hope they get burned in court, and learn their lesson...if the owner is wrong, i hope he get's nothing, because a lot of people do crap just to jump on a "i hate you" bandwagon and sue...like the mcdonald's coffee case..this isn't frivilous by any means, but ya nah mean:goodjob: :rly:

Reconciliation in progress.
And all it took was a simple conversation between the parties involved. Funny how after a whole bunch of crap being said and a bunch of mud being slung.....it came down to people talking like grown folks.
Maybe they should've tried that since the beginning, huh? ;)
BTW, everyone is so quick to jump on a bandwagon that they don't stop to use common sense......"money tree" is a finance company folks, not something Arash called the customer. The CUSTOMER got some money from a finance company CALLED "MONEY TREE"......
See how easily people twist things around?

Yes, after all this got posted on the net, and the damage was done, they offered to reconcile the dispute.

now lets not fuss over that....and yes jaime, i remembered that after posting it, so my bad....
i would run in the shop punching key players in the throat and tell everybody who dnt want to die (except the owners) to leave NOW!! I would burn the shop dwn with owners and sidekicks in it, making sure there was nothing else standing. And when the cops got there i would let them know y i did it and make sure im on the news so everybody knows, this could happen again.
I don't care what's going on, I won't put up with a threat like this. You will hear from the authorities and my lawyer.
The situation got blown out of proportion, and like jaime said, this should have been resolved before it got this far.
I really would like to see you do that, you little bitch.

You may not know BTEC since you rarely post in here, but I think it's quite obvious that he just actin a fool as usual. But the above statement coming from a shop owner is exactly the mentality that started all these threads. Good luck :goodjob:

THIS SHIT IS FUCKING STUPID... THERE IS A WHOLE LOT MORE TO THE STORY THEN WHAT ALL HAS BEEN POSTED OR WHAT HAS LEAD PEOPLE ON TO BELIEVE THAT MM AS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THIS GUY...
GUY PAID SOME MONEY FOR A PROJECT (NOT ALL OF THE MONEY) GUY DISSAPPEARS FOR MONTHS ON OUT - GOES TO JAIL OR SOME SHIT LIKE THAT - CAR SITS FOR MONTHS B/C SHOP CAN NOT GET IN TOUCH W/ THE OWNER (LEGALY THE SHOP COULD TAKE THE PARTS/CAR B/C OF THE AMOUNT OF TIME OWNER ABANDONED CAR), OWNER DECIEDED TO PICK UP CAR W/O FINISHING THE PROJECT.
NOW IF IT WAS MY SHOP I WOULD OF BEEN HANDLED THE SAME WAY EXCEPT FOR I WOULD EITHER TAKEN HIS CAR OR CHARGED HIM FEES FOR ABANDONING HIS VEHICLE ON MY LOT.
MORAL OF THE STORY... DON'T BELIEVE BULLSHIT POSTED ON THE WEB.
