I'm with him. Anything in three digits would be asking too much. I could see these being kinda popular in places like Hot-Topic or other such stores.

Question, on the finished product, can you see the bulb? If so, then it'd be way too bright. I figured that it has the bulb hidden in a top mounted case that shines down. It would make one hell of a night-light. Kind of like a bubbly lavalamp...without the lava. Either way, post a pic of the finished product. It seems promising.

we debated using series of leds but we had no way to come up with making that wire into the 110v socket w.o getting a bit expensive.
