Well i don't know if this is really a noob question or not, but i've been doing some research on tuning my systeming and i've read about a "sine-wave test tone cd" , what exactly is on one of these and where could i get one?

Sound waves are sinusoidal (i probably butchered that spelling...) basically just the shape of the wave. Test tones are a single note (IE: 20hz, 40hz, etc.) I think there is a program online where you can dowload test tones then just burn a CD, but i have never done it so im not positive...

that is what you get for building a box from partical board and kindergarden paste. just becuase it tastes minty does mean it's good.

If you didn't know already, you use them to make sure your system can clearly reproduce highs mids and lows (mostly the lows) correctly. Sometimes you will get certain tones that will sound fluttery if it's not tuned correctly... beyond that i won't speak because i'm no expert... :)

Hey noob, try Bass Meckanik's Audio Toolbox. has alot of stuff on there. 99 tracks of sine waves, sweeps, test tones. everything

i know how to use the cd, my main question was just how to obtain one. I found some tones online so now i have a copy of one.

Noice, It wasnt my fault that I blew the back of the box. Sub zone enclosures arent good quality thats all.
