I have a 2005 Ford Focus ZX5 with 18000 miles on it. It is an auto and has no tach, but is clean and well kept up.
What would you try to sell this car for?

Ummm. You thought about looking on Kelly Blue Book website? It'll tell you instantly. Later, QD.

I already did that. The kelly blue book value is more than I paid for the car :)
I was trying to get a real person's view on it.

That would be the value of it. Later, QD.

Did someone take a dump in your cheerios this morning?
But thank you for the advice, I would just try to be a lil more tactful in the future.

So only comes across rude. Ok I think I can deal with that one.

Yeah. What's "taking a dump" have to do with it? I gave you a straight forward answer. What do you want? Someone to tell you the'll give you more or it's worth more than that? All people will do is tell you look it up or they will look it up for you and tell you. I just chose not to do your work. Later, QD.

I am sorry for I was not aware of you style of posting.
"Did someone take a dump in your cheerios this morning?"
Is a somewhat of a cliché phrase for when people come across rude for no apparent reason.
I was just asking because I am still a n00b with the whole car sales things. I was just asking for advice from people that have more experience (people like yourself). Now I know that the "Kelly Blue Book" is fairly good tool to use.
Thank for the help and sorry for the frustration caused.

KBB is not " Fair " to the older model cars , thus not giving them the good street value they're worth. As for the newer cars you be the judge...... :dunno:
With that being said , I kinda understand the meaning behind this post, just my :2cents:
try looking on autotrader.com, craigslist and a few other sites that sell cars. See what people are trying to get for theirs with similar miles and condition and that will give you an idea what you're up against. KBB is a good place to start, but most important is what people are asking for them at the time you are trying to sell yours... Good luck with the sale.
