Had the day off and decided to go up to Dyno lab to see what my new motor was putting down to the ground. My Vris settings need to be corrected, ill have to get an msd window switch for that, but here's what i got:

About what i was expecting, i was shooting for the 160 mark so i was close so i'm pleased. Need to recheck my timing and i gotta swap out an o2 sensor, then throw on headers and a 2.5" exhaust and i should be closer to the 170 mark, then it will be time for megasquirt and supercharger.

Hell yeah man, keep up the work. I like the wheels in your pic. Dynolab is great also. Thats where I took my integra to get tuned. Got it tuned by Ed Synf who was awesome. The guy who has my teg now had to get it retuned because the idiots at the car detailing place somehow reset his VAFC... I sent him back to Dynolab and they did him well...

Probably the same... I know he only goes to Dynolab once a month, charges extra, and has been featured in many import magazines. I believe he was featured once for a 1000hp Supra. Not sure what magazine it was. He told me but i forgot...

Yea its the same one, I hear he does amazing things, when i get my megasquirt i'm gonna take it to him and let him do his magic. will just have to save up the money for him to tune it

waste of your time kevin my boy miguel had this motor in his probe and at the time all i had was a stock b16 setup and i could have out ran it at anytime no disrespect to anyone also but just giving you a heads up and my coupe weighs tons more then you crx and no spray so thats my thoughts

You can't class a coupe with a probe,i know i got 1.The probe is way heavier with the same horsepower. My friend had a mx-3 with a 2.5 klze, and it was running really good.Beating civic coupe and hatchbacks with b16,b18 vtec,3.5 altimas, and a stock srt-4. It ran a 14.4 @96.67 mph, with the clutch slipping in 1st,2nd and 3rd. DON"T UNDERESTIMATE THEM.Good to see mx-3 trying something. :goodjob: Am thinking about getting a mx3 myself and taking my klze out of probe and putting in it. Why didnt u get the 2.5 klze???

im sure kevin would out run him cause it looks like you are only reving to 7. im not sure of kevins set up, but i would think he would be revin to at least 8200 or so.

i used to have a probe GT, it was quick, but it still dosnt hold up to a b16 espically with bolt ons. honda powa f0 lyf3

that is a klze I am having problems with my VRIS system right now due to the fact the ecu is not correct one for this motor (motor is requires a kl68 ecu which is OBDII) Plus i found out thursday night my timing was a bit off, so i'm sure the combo is causing the lower numbers. i'm gonna redyno it here soon, when i finish the exhaust and get 2 msd digital window switches so i can control the vris system.

You should come out to a moca (mx3 owners club of atlanta) meet one night. We rather enjoy it when other mazda/probe owners come out to hang out.

I saw no point in commenting about a b16, i've taken a few out, I rather like when they get pissed off and due the ricer drive by after i've slowed down

I'm not sure i follow how him reving to 8200 rpms means he will win, did i miss something here? I chose to only rev to 7k because i know the power band of my engine and i understand that after 7k its a waste of time to go higher, yes i will obtain more HP, not enough to worry about. I can safely rev to 8000 rpms and think nothing of it, no point.

The Difference between the Ford GT motor and My motor

Any probe manufactured in the United States, came with a 2.5 V6 Kl03/de motor, its HP ratings were 160bhp, It had a 9:1 compression ratio, and is a pritty solid motor for running Turbo on as you can push ruffly 280-300 hp with out any internal work, and just using a stand alone managment system like megasquirt. You can pick this motor up from any local junkyard for about 400
This motor was commonly found in Mx6, Probes, 626, Millenia

The 2.5 KLZE is the Jspec version of this motor (by the way both motors were design by mazda) this motor has larger injectors, more aggressive cams (straight necks used the kl31 cams which allowed for more torque at lower rpms) and a 10:1 compression ratio, BHP rating was set at 200. Turbo'd or supercharged you can expect to see 300-320 on low boost (about half of what the Kl03/de would need).
This motor will run you about 800-900 at BJE or Nad auto. Common Vehicles that used these motors, were Jspec Mx6, Eunos 800s (the majority of motors imported come from these cars).

LOL a B16 with bolt-ons will not touch a ZE mx3.. hell it woudlnt even touch my DE in my protege. THe only car i seen hold a candle to a ZE in a MX3 was a H22 hatch on the hwy. I have the Probe GT motor, and ill run kevin when i get my radiator and shit together with no spray. the KLDE dynos @ roughly 160hp-160tq with intake/ ignition upgrade. The KLZE will make 20+ hp that the DE atleast. His numbers are off hes makin the power of a DE with a ZE, like someone makin the power of a GSR with a B18C5, just need to get the vris worked out and all that fun stuff.

how much the MX3 weights anyways?

How much power is the rex putting down and how much does it weight?

kfzemx3

mx3s weigh about 2400

then again lighter chassi, drivers, hell he made what 158 WHP?

ls/vtec A is gonna hit close to 145-150. plus he has internals so i would not be surprised if he is in the 150-165 WHP range. add in a lighter chassi. iw ould most def say the CRX, he would pull a better 60' time than the mx3. how do you think 500 WHP civics, will out run 800 or 900 hp v8's?

JITB
03-12-2006, 01:58 AM
the 158hp isnt accurate for the motor, read mane. his vris windows arent timed correctly, hes using a incorrect ecu, and its messin everything up. The ZE dynoes @ atleast 170-180hp when in the right runnin order, his is not. hes getting numbers like he was runnin a DE (probe/mx6 2.5 v6).
