the starters should be relatively universal. i have an starter off of an OBD1 LS on my GSR tranny right now. as for the alternator u need the right OBD to use it. the plugs differ from OBD1 and 2.

so i need obd1 for my alternator for my obd2 ls motor? And what about the starter can i use b16 starter?
Edit. Oh yeah i putting all this into an ek. So the wire is already obd2 and the motor is obd2

ok check it..
your car is OBD2 so im assuming the harness is OBD2 as well
if so then you use an OBD2 alternator. BUT if u happen to have an OBD1 alternator and cant get your hands on an OBD2 then u can do wire splicing of sorts which i dont wanna get into cuz afterwards (if u dont have the spare parts on hand, cuz i had a spare D-series OBD1 alternator) u may as well have bought an OBD2 alternator which u dont wanna do i think.
in conclusion, if the wire is obd2 and the motor is obd2. get an obd2 alternator
did i rant? if so lemme know

yes that make sense. I heard i can use obd1 for need to cut the ob1 wire for it and such. But thanks though.
