So, apparently Wesley Snipes and Joe Rogan are supposed to be fighting each other sometime this year. This fight is going to be all-out UFC style...
More info: Here (http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=1079&zoneid=1)
Joe Rogan is on Carson now talking about it and says that he's already accepted, they're just waiting for Snipes now. Snipes was the one who initiated this by calling the UFC and saying that he wants to fight him, probably 'cause he owes a crapload of back taxes....
I hope it happens...

What's funny is that they both have some sort of real martial arts background. On top of what he did in the past, Rogan said tonight that he's been training for like two months, plus I think he's the one that calls the UFC fights, so that would mean he's been around them guys for a bit now...
I guess we'll see if Snipes accepts or punks out...

don't take joe rogan lightly. he has been training in mixed marital arts scince he was 9 and has competed in many competitions.
but Joe Rogan has never killed a vampire with his bare hands.
Snipes is either a 3rd or 4th degree black belt... Its all over for Rogan!

Movie fighting and Real Life are 2 different things. Hell, you can drive by any Tae Kown Do or Karate place and there are 9 yrs olds w/"black belts". That being said I don't think a "belt" is anything to be impressed by. :2cents:

tae kwon do is garbage i took it since i was like 5 yrs old but being black belt does not mean your great ..
when i was starting i was sparing a black belt kid and i KOd him with a kick in his face ..
and i told my mom that tae kwon do is garbage and wanted to take more advanced classess ..
then i went to learn some muay thai and jeet kwon do and i loved it then i stopped going ..
took some boxing classess with my friend then i stopped doing everything ..
but when your a 8th degree black belt its not a joke ..

Dude, Rogan is a 4 time state Taekwondo Champ, so, he's actually been hit before in a competition, but like y'all said taekwondo is one of those "strange" martial arts where little kids have black belts... Most importantly tho, he said he's been training for this fight for the past two months, and I also know that he trains with Eddie Bravo on the regular...
On the other hand tho, Snipes looks like he should be able to take care of himself, he's definitely big, agile and flexible enough, now it's a matter of seeing if he can put that potential to use ('cause that ain't always the case).
My prediction: If they fight, Rogan all the way, that dude looked a lot bigger and crazier last night than I've ever seen him before.

doubt it will happen, but i'm sure Rogan will take Snipes. I'm guessing Rogan has been training longer than he is admitting with real UFC fighters. will be interesting to watch. maybe next will be the Van Dame vs Segal that everyone wanted to see years back

There's no official date since Snipes hasn't yet accepted the terms of the deal. However, were he to accept it would be in Vegas sometime this year.

Taekwon do is bullshit in "cage fighting" the only thing its good for is sparring type fighting where you have a points system. No real grappling moves or ground fighing which is all that the UFC is about now. Rogan is done.

Everybody is talking like Snipes is this badass. Movies is acting, and in real life you bleed. What "martial arts" is he any belt in? If it's not one of the grappling arts, he's no better prepared than Rogan. Personally, my money would be on Rogan since he's younger, stronger, and has been around the octagon for many years now (albeit mostly announcing).

Snipes rocks, but I'm afraid I'd have to go with Joe Rogan, on looks alone. I dont know anything about there martial arts backgrounds, but Joe definatly seems to be built pretty solidly. He reminds me of Joey from Friends and Mike Tyson rolled into one.
