Unlocking Cingular phone????

This might be the wrong area for posting this but, I didn't know where to put it so....... is there anyone out here that can unlock a Motorola V551 Cingular phone?? I can post the IMEI number if needed. I know how to do Nokia phones but I have never done a motorola one.

if you contact cingular customer service it will take 1-3 business days, depending on the situation because they put in for a request to unlock that particular phone by the imei number. My buddy wanted me to get his black razor unlocked for him that he had purchased from best buy and the guy wanted me to fax him over a copy of the reciept and some other bullshit with the imei number to make sure it was there with me and all this other crap and its a pretty extensive process, it should not really be that hard at all, but they go through a long ass verification process and shit.

no i haven't contacted Cingular because of the long drawn out process they put you through and even then sometimes they still won't give it to you.

google search for motorola unlock generator or soemhtin like that and uc an download a code generator for your phone. u put in our mei number and all that stuff. and they will give u a # to put it in.

I can. well actually my dad can. He unlocked the razr for me so i used it with T-mobile. also he unlocked the SX66, the cingular exclusive PDA phone. if thats what you are talkin about let me know I can probably do something for you

i think hes talkin about unlocking a phone that has been locked by cingular, at least i hope he is!! i would love to here what cingular would say if u called them and asked how to unlock their phone to use it with t-mobile!!

The phone is my uncles phone. He switched to T-Mobile and asked me if I could unlock it for him seeing I have done it to other Nokia phones. Motorola is a little different though. I don't have the data cable to fit his phone but from what I read after searching, it can be done. I just need someone from Cingular to give me the unlock code.

but i dont think it is a good idea to call cingular to ask to unlock the phone for t-mobile, thats like asking pepsi to fill thier bottles with coke. what model phone is it.

u can bring it to a local phone store. they unlock it for u for about 20 bucks
