Personally, it's just very cool to me that someone would actually go through the trouble to do this. I think there might be some weight savings too.

^same here. Science of Speed is bit too aggressive for my taste and the wide body looks werid. Espcially everything else is few inches wide and the doors are not.

Carbon Fiber is a VERY strong material, so that is not accurate

Looks good...i only have 1 complaint...the door jams? Why are they red? At least paint them black so it belnds more, right now they stick out WAY to much...it just looks off.

i was gonna say that because of the door jams being red that it has to be an overlay. ive never seen a door jam not connected to the actual outside panels of the car before. i could be wrong though

Well, the Maclaren F1 and the Ferrari Enzo both use carbon fibre to create their passenger compartments. The Maclaren F1 is regarded to have the strongest passenger compartment in the world, followed by the Enzo. Oh and same goes for Formula 1 cars. The Maclaren and the Enzo are made to protect the passengers if the crash at over 200mph.

So tell me again, how isn't carbon fibre strong?

fad or not, if it's true carbon fibered instead of stock parts wrapped in carbon fiber, as a result of added strength/rigidity and weight savings would be great, carbon fiber is meant to be painted.

I dont like how CF looks, but if I had the money building a CF body for a car would be great for the power\weigh ratio. The only color car that it looks good with IMO for like a hood or something of that sort would be black.

Because in both of those cars, in a crash at triple digit speeds, the passenger compartment is desinged to break apart from the rest of the car
