I Would Load Test The Vehicles Electrical System While Playing The Stereo And Take From There.

A cap is never a bad idea. As far as the 1 amp per sub, it depends on the ohm load of the subwoofer. Are the punch 12"s 4 ohm, 8ohm, dvc? And what kind of 600w amps are they?

the amp i own now is a 600 watt punch amp ( the new series, i dont liek em...thought they would be good like the old one) and the one i bought today is a audiobahn amp

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the punch amps either. The old skool stuff was much better. Ya know the 30, 45, 75, 150, etc. Real old stuff. Anyway. I need to know the ohms of your subs to answer your question. And what audiobahn amp did you get. I sell audiobahn so very familiar with their amps.

We do carry the flame q's....we don't stock them but they are available in my warehouse. We sell them for $199.96. As far as a box, I would say go with the Audio Enhancers box. It's slot port and hits crazy hard. It's $134.99. As far as an amp, the subs are dvc 4ohm, so you can either parallel-parallel them into a 1ohm load and run like the audiobahn 1300hct 1300w($649.96) or parallel-series them and run the audiobahn a8002t 800w ($379.99).

For the money of a decent cap I would just buy a yellow top battery and do the big "3" and you should be straight. I mean a cap is good if you can get it for dirt cheap but I wouldn't pay full price for one personally.

Maybe I should have asked what makes you want to add a cap...If your lights and such are blinking and volt meter is going down when your subs are hittin, then get a cap. Even changing your battery to an Optima won't help this. The altenator is what is having difficulty, not the battery. It doesn't sound as if you are running a huge system where an altenator re-wind or upgrade would be needed. Optima batteries are obviously great (I have one too) but you will need a cap for what I mentioned above. Now, if you want to run your system a lot without the car running, then buy the Optima and potentially a second. Just depends on your needs...I usually recommend a cap per 1000w or 60 amps of current draw. The two most common overlooked pieces of a sub system is some type of sound deadening/anit-vibration (Dynamat, Silencer) and a cap. Both will make your system sound better/hit harder.

^ uhh yeappp.... =)
a cap would help....but what do you have to charge the battery and the cap.... if you are thinkin of running a high power setup.. i would suggest puttin a high amp alternator.... i think thats the only true way to get what you need for your system..

aiigh im starting to understand more, my lights dont blink or anything when my system hits, i just always thought a cap would save power goin to my battery, thanks for the education on that info though, i really ppreciate it
