So I desprately need to clean up my engine bay (with the motor in it) and I was wondering what I should be careful of when spraying it with the pressure washer at the car wash. Anyboody know of anything or ever had probs doing it, LMK PLEASE because the last thing I want to do is jack up something and be stuck at the car wash needin a tow. Thanks in advance.

just try to cover the distributer and the exposed electrical parts coverd. most of the time it doesnt matter if you do or not. i pressure wash engines everyday at my job and i dont cover anything and i have never had any problems

unless you have carb dont cover anything
heres the steps, i have used this on my moms cb7 and i got this from my cousin that works at the ford dealership
1. make sure that the car is cool/warm(not hot)
2. crank the car and spray the engine down with a degreaser (simple green, purple power, castrol super clean)
3. allow the degreaser to soften the grease by letting it sit for about 15-20mins, while the car is running. (doing this allows the heat and the degreaser to soften the grease and make it easier to come of.
4. use the garden hose, with 'handle' and hose off the engine
5. (optional) get some armor all or any type of 'shiner', whatever you want to call it, and spray the engine down. close the hood, allow it to sit running for about another 10mins, pop the hood open and your done.
*and no you dont have to worry about electrical devices unless you have a nigga rig wiring with and open wire somewhere, then that would be on your dumbness.*

If you would like to keep your motor in tip top shape... yea- if you get anything like the distributer or anything electrical wet... even with a "water hose" you're gona be havin alot of trouble. The least little bit can cause major problems. Steam is the way to go. I had a show car- never cleaned the engine bay until a show...and I can promise you when I did...it was so clean you could eat off of it. :) Good luck.

The cheapest way is to go to an auto detail place... IE: a car wash...they can usually do it there. You fuck tards are too incapeable to understand proper instructions so I dont wana be the cause of any problems for yall. ;)
