White Supra!

Went to the Np meet a lil late and saw some nice rides. Like the red foxbody sc mustang very clean. But anyways on the way home a white supra pulled up next to us on 400 south. Pretty sure it was the same one that was up there with a new blk accord and blk mr2. Back to the story, pulled up next to us in the sti and rode next to eachother for a sec so three horn honked and took off at about 60,65. From the start pulled about a car then heard the supra what we thought was comin on hard but never got back up next to us. Probably pulled about 3 or 4 cars. Then he tryed my boys srt-4 and got beat 4 times. All on video post them up when i get the camera from my boy, plus he had a camera too.

thanks man, its tuned at 10-12psi right now putting down 308whp/306tq ..i just drive it on 10lbs just to be safe..i have the dave-h manifold pt52 turbo 440cc injectors..i was suposed to be on the emanage ultimate but that just ran us into more tuning problems so im back on the safc2...idk it doesnt feel like its running perfectly or atleast how it should be..thats the thing..everyone tells me that the tranny is going to go out but everyones numbers are diffrent..some say 350 some say 450 etc etc..i just dont want to risk it yet..im saving up to to a built auto swap hopefully before june..see lol i have money for parts and no money for labor and no experienced friends to help lol ..i do have to admit tho that sti was QUICK lol..and as for the whole "you wasted your money" comment..not really..a na supra puts down about 180whp im putting down 308 and i didnt spend that much on it..supras have alot of potential i just have to work my way up there slowly :)

lol yeah im thinking about it..no its not vvti..its a 1993 with the stock na tranny..ive been thinking about swapping out the HG but i head the arp headstuds wont fit and they are going to have to bore the holes or sumshit idk..i still got alot of reading up to do before i know what im going to do next..ill be out tonight if theres anything going on

oh shit a fellow NA-t'er i thought i was the only supra NA-t on this mug im almost running what your running except right now i got a t67 daveH exhaust manifold dave H intake manifold 3" intercooler piping 4" core 1000CC injectors im running on a map ecu setup right now by the summer i should have my boostlogic built auto and my gt42r installed als i got arp headstuds and a 2.5 mm headgasket boostlogic and boostlogic turbo blanket lets see there tons more but i cant remember we should hang sometime man oh and yes im auto to so i feel your pain i think im gonna run 12 pounds on my tranny though if it goes then ill buy another no big deal

i belive dave H told me 350 the tranny starts to go but i think it varys when you talking about how your driving and if your racing what kind of pulls your doing "highway or from dig"

right now... not a whole lot... only running 11-12 lbs.. got a cracked custom made tubular manifold... at full boost im only making 11-12 lbs on a 10lb spring.. sad isnt it? but its ok, i got a 50 shot to compensate for now ;)

and whats your a/f like? i didn't think it would be safe to run 10-11lbs without lowering compression.. thats like playing russian roulette... not to say running a 50 shot of nitrous on top of 11lbs of untuned boost isn't... lol

why not just drop in gte internals?? then u dont need the headstuds right?

yes thats another option however to be safe i would say atleast headgasket 2.5 or higher but do both headgasket and arp headstuds he could put TT internals inside that helps also just depends on if he was gonna get aftermarket pistons later down teh road which is my intentions one day

pending on his objectives... most IS guys just drop in the gte short block.. the stock internals on a gte should allow you to run close to 600 rwhp with no problems...

its really not the fact of him losing hes got a nice setup and if it wasnt for our only achilles heel "tranny" we could be kcikin ass right out the box hes got a setup good for around 450 maybe higher if he lower the compression but he cant turn up the boost level due to the tranny. our trannys are very week so in order to play we gotta get them built

the sti and the srt4 should be able to not only get a good pull at the start but with his tranny the way it is and him runnin low boost on pump gas the outcome should be just what it is the key is the tranny like i previously stated once he has that taken care of he can up the psi. oh and where is the video of this im very interested to see anyone point me to it

atlshawdyfosho is auto so am i thats our current weakness cause we cant turn up boost with out grenading the tranny and since none of the local shops can build auto trannys we have to ship our trannys off to either sound performance boost logic or a shop like that kind of sucks but ooh well

well we may like the manuel but both are week trannys as far as teh NA's go for instance our autos shoudl handle between 350 and 400 HP however the only option is to build it or add some other type of tranny the NA manuels can take more with a upgraded clutch but they wont last long running more then 500 HP
