ok so with all that check engine light thing going on, thats wat started me being worried cuz i noticed that last night, well this morning, i noticed that my car was leaking something, when i got home from school i parked it in the garage so that it wouldnt be wet and i could see the color of the thing that was leaking, well sure enough, its oil...what could be the cause of this? like i just changed my oil like a week or 2 ago and it wasnt doing that before or right after i had changed it, what could have made this happen?

Find out where the source is by jacking the car up and taking a look around. If it has alot of miles it could be a rear main seal, very common.

well it takes time for seals to eventually go bad and this week could have been its time.best thing for you to do is actually locate the source of the leak and go from there. Also check you drain bolt and oil filter and make sure those are tight as well since you did a oil change not to long ago.

Taking a regular grease rag with some of the spilled oil on it (it's always gonna happen on a b-series unless you have a remote filter setup) I'll wipe down the oil pan, suspension, etc...basically anything that is painted black :) If i were to have an oil leak i could tell exactly where it was coming from.

yeah, i should start doing that, i dunno, im going to check like the drain plug and what not once it is freaking dry outside and not wet so i can actually get under the car....so far if its leaking crazy amounts of oil i couldnt be able to notice it yet since the oil light hasnt come on or anything....and its not like when i drive the car around and the park it, oil is dripping, its like it has to settle or something and then it will start dripping....its weird i dunno

well, i did that earlier today, i parked it in the garage where there was concrete that was dry so that i coul see whether or not it was and hat color it was that was actually liking, cuz at the time, i wasnt sure if it was oil or not, but it seemed like it was comming from up closer to the front of the car, maybe around the area of the filter/drain plug

Did you mix differant anti-freezes creating a brownish sludge mixture?

what? i mean i thought it smelled like oil, i mean the little puddle that i did see when i pulled my car out of my garage wasnt like black or anything, but then again i would think it would be since i just changed my oil like 2 weeks a go, kinda like a light brown, i thought it smelled like oil

alright, so i looked under my car again this morning and i saw a little spot that it had made, and i checked my oil level, my oil level seemed to be good, from what i could tell....the spot where its dripping, its a little hard to tell, but from what i can see looks like its comming from around where the drain plug is ( i dont know exactly what the thing is called where the oil comes out of when you pull the drain plug) but there seems to be maybe like a little like dried drop on the front side of that thing....so i dont know

...or filter
yeh, make sure you didn't double gasket it, because sometimes the gasket on the oil filter tends to get stuck when you take off the oil filter and by putting a new oil filter on it would be double gasket. If not, check your drain plug, then check your oil pan gasket, then check your head seal.

If not, check your drain plug, then check your oil pan gasket, then check your head seal.i've only seen that happen with non-oem filters. I'll pay the $7.50 any day for OEM...need to pick up a case.
