Hey guys, i got a ticket during spring break driving on 75. It was 3:30 in the morning and I was comming back from Fl. officer Dick wanted to give me a hard time and gave me a ticket. I was going with the speed of traffic, eventhough that was like 3 other cars, but I think it was highly unreasonable for him to pull me over. My questions are, how much would a ticket like this cost? how many points would I recieve with a Class C liscence. Also, can someone explain No lo for me?

its a 4 point ticket so you cant plead no lo contendry...id go to defensive driving before court just to show that youre making an effort to make up for your mistake...good luck

No Lo is basically pleading no contest, and not saying your guilty but you'll suffer a lesser fine as long as it doesn't go on your record. You only get 1 every 5 years so use it wisely. In other words if you plead no lo you'll get a lesser fine, and it won't go on your record.

No lo from my understanding is that you only get to use it once every 3 yrs.... and that if we get a good lawyer you should be safe... and No lo means that your not saying that you didn't do it, but you're not saying you did do it... thats my understand... anyone care to elaborate

no lo is no contest......as for the price...he got you goin 25 over...they could suspend your liscense too...but again the price would depend on what county you were in...did a sherrif pull you over?

I got pulled over by Cobb County.......I was in court as a witness for a friend's accident and I remember reading that you can only use it every 5 years and it drops points and charges, but a fine will be in place. I haven't haeard about going 24 over keeps you from using No Lo.

I was gonna throw the "it was 3:30 in the morning" card, I mean I wasn't hauling ass, I was going fast enough for me to stay awake and slow enough to maintain the safety of me and my passengers. ALSO what pisses me off is he got me RIGHT before the 285 border where the speed limit is 65 :jerkit:

Well....yeah.....i wouldnt try the "3:30 in the mornin thing" the judge might just say should have pulled over and went to sleep, went to a hotel and if you had passengers to ask someone else to drive......i would just do the defensive driving and pray for the best

i believe that if you are over 21 you won't lose your license. a friend of mine just got a ticket for 27 over on 85 and they told her that since she was 23 she wouldn't lose her license - so if you are over 21 you will probably just pay a fine. She called about hers and all she has to do is pay like $217 and she is done. good luck tho dude

actually I've been doing a little research, theres a thing called PJC "prayer of judgement......?" I'm still looking into it and if I do lose my liscence I will try to request a "Hardship" liscence so I can got to work and school

exact same thing happened to me, i plead no lo and i haven't heard anything since...it was almost too easy... i think the terms and conditions for pleading no lo depends on where you got the ticket...like county by county differences. but not sure. mine was in gwinnett.

officer Dick

Oh how cool was that.

wanted to give me a hard time and gave me a ticket.

Heavens NO! Give you a ticket for speeding. WTF is wrong with cops now a days?

I was going with the speed of traffic, eventhough that was like 3 other cars, but I think it was highly unreasonable for him to pull me over.

Why was it highly unreasonable? Because you drive a tuned car that may stand out? Get used to it. Back in the day, for those who may be old enough to remember, any car painted RED was just about an automatic target. Everyone knew and no one complained. I never understand why people whine and complain when they know they were speeding, but the cop was an asshole because he gave the person a ticket. Explain, please. I really want to understand.

My questions are, how much would a ticket like this cost?

You were in Florida? My last ticket in Florida(in 2001) my ticket for doing 85-65, I was fined $265.

how many points would I recieve with a Class C liscence.

2-4.

Also, can someone explain No lo for me?

What the others said basically covers it. Good luck, dude. Take Defensive Driving. It is worth it. Not really trying to get into you, but I don't understand the stuff I quoted you. Later, QD.

ouch man, I'm not really trying to get out of a ticket, I just need my liscence for school and work. I've also had my car for 2 years and this is my 1st time getting a ticket in it, thats why I said he was giving me a hard time.

ouch man,

Lolol. Sorry, man. Like I said, I wasn't trying to get you.

I'm not really trying to get out of a ticket,

And that's cool. You're the first one that I've read on here, that didn't try to get out of it.

I just need my liscence for school and work.

That's part of the stuff you got to think about while you're driving. Trust me, I've been driving for 20 years onw, 15 of it performance/custom wise. It is hard NOT to go. I've got speeding tickets galore. I've had my license suspended 6 times for too many points due to speeding. Not trying to preach or be your Dad with this rambling. Just trying to help you. You seem alright to me. Later, QD.

thanks man, I guess if worse comes to worse. I'd request a harship liscence or just ONLY drive to school and work on a suspended liscence....:/

i got a storie to tell on mine....first ticket i ever got i was goin 24 or 25 over in a 25, im not really sure which on it was.neways, two weeks later, i got another ticket before i even when to my first court date....this one was prolly bout 24 or 25 over, but they dropped it down to 19 over.... first courtdate judge saw that it was my first offense and all he made me do was go to defensive driving school and pay a fine of 135....next court date took me 3 tries, i kept getting extentions untill i turned 18 so i wouldnt loose my license.....that solicitor, even tho he looked like an asshole was a savor. this time i got a 185 dollar fine and the judge said that i cant get a ticket worth 4 points or ill loose my license....so basically i have to do my best not to get a ticket till im 21....damnit so hard

I doubt you will lose your license man...people speed all the time and I have been to court and seen people that got busted for speeding and had drugs in their car and they were under 21 and they kept there license. Just do the driving class and some community service somewhere. Atleast 20 hours.

Three years ago when I has just turned 18 I got a ticket for 26 over and they dropped it down to 23 so I wouldn't lose my license and I had to take the class and do 20 hours of community service. I paid a 300 dollar something fine. You should be ok.

can we make the meaning of NoLo a sticky? someone asks what it means once a week at least lol...and if you lose your license off that then you are very unlucky
