gsr cams in an LS

can gsr cams work in ls motor. i got some gsr cams and i hear from some people that it wont work because gsr is vtec and the ls is not. what i do know is that typer r will work, but i dont have type r cams. im stuck with some gsr ones. help me out my fellow import atlantians

Haven't tried it but if your right that Type R cams somehow work then GSR cams will too. I wouldn't think it would because of the spacing of the lobes but anything Type R cams work in so will GSR's.

i call bullshit!! the center lobe on a vtec cam is way too wide to work in a non vtec head first off, it will prolly hit both the followers on the outside edge when it comes around. thats if u can get them bolts in. good luck though

you are really confused aren't you, VTEC cams will not work in a NON VTEC HEAD, but what you have confused is that you can use Type-R PISTONS in a LS motor but not type-r cams. You can run CTRs or ITR cams in a b18a/b

Im guessing you meant "can't" run CTR or ITR cams in a B18a/b
But i also agree vtec cams wont work out to well as far as i know..

LOL!! i was trying to post the same thing earlier but my cpu f'ed up. I say we let this topic go bc non eof us are gonna know ne thing when its all done with bc we are confusing and getting confused.

Last Post: U can run VTEC pistons in and ls/non-vtec mtr but you CANNOT run VTEC cams in a ls/non-vtec head.
