its not a B!8? dont tell me you did a B16 in that heavy teg? LOL

congrats, if its a rebuilt engine, just take it easy for 100 miles. if its had to pistons and rings in it, CHANGE THE OIL at these intervals:
20MIN of running
50 MILES
100 MILES
500 MILES

you will get most of the metal shavings in the first 500 miles, to keep from scarring the cylinder walls, change your oil repeatedly at those intervals. also , use CHEAP oil no synthetics. I usually run my engines to redline within min of starting, but it depends on what your builder says to do

good luck

seriously at those intervals? i'd never heard taht... now the 500 mile i can understand, but 50 and 100? i mean, you're the expert, but i just hadnt heard that extreme. hell i'll prolly put 200 on her today! lol. so would it be ok, since i'm takin it easy on her for a while, to just do the 500 intervals?

Vteckidd

i would AT LEAST change it at the 20min interval. you need to crank it up and let it run, warm up, then change the oil.

if this is a USED motor that HASNT had new piston and rings put in, then beat the shit out of it, no break in is required.

i'll ask him about the rings. i know he put new seals on it... he just recomended about 750-1000 miles on break in. so if its seals only and not rings and whatnot, whats the word on it?

Why are you asking him so many complicated questions.it's only complicated if you don't know much about them  ...got a couple at the shop we've been working on...one with a built head and sleeved with RSX Type-s pistons then got another stock bottom end b20z that we're prolly gonna throw in the eg hatch to see what it does (we got 205whp out of it with a mildly built stage 1 b16 head). Dyno'd them a couple times and ran a few races...

i dont know, you said that a b20 was a bad engine so taht was jsut eh first thing tha tcame to my mind lolno, i said the b20 from the prelude was not a good engine...i think the lowest hp output off all b-series, even lower than the LS b18b. I'm assuming he got a b20b from a CRV since you can get them relatively cheap and throw on just about any head...it would be pointless to get th b20a3 or a5 from the prelude because they barely produce 100hp and would cost just as much money.

Man, now you're sayin his shit's cheap. :eye:lol, compared to a GS-R and produce just as much power & torque with a stock b16 head, yes you can build them cheap...for just about the same price as a stock LS. Would, the "best bang for your buck" be better than saying you can get them "relatively cheap"?

only thing its good for is the OEM 95mm crank :)
