a friend of mine bought one and his put down 208!

seems like the dyno is inaccurate, unless they did this car like the SRT-4 and underrated it

is that little spike in the power delivery when vtec kicks in?

would that be in thrid gear?

question for bad apple

the car is a 6 spd correct? or 5?

i havent looked into it much so far

me personally i like the stylings of a coupe better than that Si hatch they came out with. Did you know that the 2001-2005 Si hatches are like a shit load and i mean a shit load heavier than the older ones? but, the 4 door style looks pretty bad ass itself there. so, if the concept becomes a reality, it would be a bad ass car. even though i don't really like 4 doors all that much.

Because the car that redefined the modern sport-compact revolution now runs on pure i-VTEC® adrenaline. At the center of this revolutionary masterpiece lives the powerful 197-horsepower 2.0-liter K20 engine that screams performance. Add in a close-ratio, 6-speed manual transmission, sportier suspension and road-hugging standard 17' wheels, and the 2006 Civic Si is ready for anything your race-driven brain can muster up. The 20th-anniversary Civic Si is loaded with hi-tech performance and attitude. And it's waiting for your go.

You'll be ready for spirited moves with a totally reengineered MacPherson strut front/multi-link rear suspension with firmer spring rates, beefy stabilizer bars and razor-quick Electric Power Steering (EPS). Roll with standard 17' or accessory 18' alloy wheels, while available warm-weather tires tighten your grip. This latest-generation Civic Si is the beneficiary of broad and thorough research in safety design from Honda. It's fully loaded with features to help keep you and your passengers safe. The Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure enhances the vehicle's ability to deal with crash energy in impacts with vehicles of differing size. To help you maintain steering control during hard stops, an anti-lock braking system (ABS) is standard. Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) in the Civic Si takes into account how the car is dynamically loaded, and apportions braking force appropriately. The new Civic Si also enhances your visibility to others by incorporating Daytime Running Lights (DRL) up front.

Splashed the manifold with water? Thats dumb. That will barely cool anything down, just probably crack it eventually.

And everybody puts a fan in front of cars on a dyno. It simulates the car driving.

okay dumbass...if you read the report on the link that is what they say..the 181 run was with a standard dyno fan...the 189 was with a giant oversized refrigerated fan....

Quote from site
Dyno
The results were surprising. The first of four pulls, with no fan to simulate airflow at speed, pegged the dynamometer at 181 whp! After a two minute cool down, we ran the second pull and got an even better 183 whp reading. Now we were hooked. For the third run, we flipped on the big fan and pulled to 186 whp. Remember, this is a factory stock Si with no modifications or preparation of any sort. The guys wanted to take a shot at seeing if they could hit 190 whp and cooled the intake manifold with a splash of cold water for the last pass. The K20Z3 screamed one more time and we had our best number yet - an asphalt scorching 189.15 whp. Correcting for atmospheric conditions, we only lose one hp for a 188.74 whp reading.

2006 Si good deal better than previous ones. with good looks and a great amount of potential. it seems some what surely with a possibly 4 door concept at hand, that the new Si will be one great car.also, there was something i read but i couldn't find it again, this being i read this a month or so ago, i found something saying that they were posibly thinking of producing a 2006 Si hatch. but, i am not sure if that is true or not.
