Everything was built together and tested to make sure it works. The hard-drive was formatted and partioned via NTFS.

It is compatible with *any* computer that has a USB port. I'll give you the CD it came with in case you need any drivers for pre-XP O/S's (if you're running Windows XP, this thing is just plug 'n play).
