Any of you happen to know of this new virus going around... all of the "Yahoo" screen is full of porn links and no matter what you put in google, i get the same results page.. this results page has the same porn and adware links that appear on the fake yahoo page.

anyone seen this or know how to fix it? TIA

Never heard of it, But best bet is update your virus definetion on whatever virus software you have, run a scan after that and also run a spyware removal program, that should fix that and clear your cookies.

you could prevent it by not looking at the porn =P

ok, it's my gf's computer.. and they currently have no anti-virus software. I have recently removed IE and told them to use Firefox or at least Netscape. I have already removed everything extra from the start up list.
I can shut down some odd named programs through ctrl+alt+del, then the browsers work fine, no issues. But as soon as the computer is restarted, the virus is back. I went into add/remove programs and got rid of all the extra or questionable shit.

If this helps any one, let me know.. and if i figure it out, i'll keep you posted in case it shows up with any of you.

you need to know the name of the virus then get an update to fix it. use Mcafee FREE virus scan online if you can get online to do it, then run the scan, let it fix your issues and find out what the name of the virus is. then search under that name and find the fix for it.

go to download.com, and download ad-aware se. From the sounds of it you'll need to do this on another computer, burn it to CD, and then install it on hers. Run a scan and remove all objects.

You know its almost impossible to totally remove internet explorer. So much if its written into the registry and so many other microsoft programs rely on it its crazy. Use you some netscape navigator! Or Safari.
