why does the cage extend back to the rear of the hatch? i'm sure it stiffens the car just a little more, but generally the only flexing in a chassis is going on between the 4 wheels. or is it just reinforcement in case of a rear end hit on the car?

either way, good stuff. would be cool to see pictures of the "hidden" exhaust routing and such if it's not too top secret. nice to see something different ;)

looks like it will be built to be very fast.

Thanks everyone. Yes this car will be more for the turns than straight line. Unlike Mike I enjoy turning and brakeing also. This car will be for auto-x, mountain runs, weekend fun, etc.

As far as the roll bar goes. We are using this as a display to show what we can do here at the shop. We were going a little more for looks than complete purpose. However, the bars going to the rear do help a little. If you have ever drivin a car without a front core support you know what I am talking about.

Finally, about the hidden exhaust. On the EF's the muffler sits sideways under the car and hangs down. I can't stand that, so if you look at the second pic you will see that I cut out part of the spare tire well and boxed in an area for the muffler to sit under the car. I am running a 4"X9" muffler that is 17" long. I think it makes the car alot cleaner from behind.
