you'll be fine as long as you take care of it and it's tuned well.

i turbo'd my single cam at 62k miles and now have over 107k miles averaging about 15k/year. still stock internals, etc.

Of course it's possible... I know it's a lil different, but i drive my supercharged 5.0 every day... I mean assuming you aren't driving some sick drag setup, sure it's daily drivable...

Yes it very possible, as long as the car is tuned. I have one of the highest HP civic in GA 542hp at 22psi and i drive my car daily 70 miles round trip to work and back.

Yes so when u see a Black Civic Ek sitting in rush hour traffic that is me!!!

Of course i dont drive it running 22psi i turn the boost down to about 15psi,but i hardly ever boost my motor, i try to save it too whip on some cars asses on the track!!

how much boost can i run on factory internals?

Id get a good tune with a decent ems, not a SAFC, FMU, or crap like that...And run maybe 14-15psi, and you should be good, just take care of it and dont beat on it everyday...

not much on factory.

example: the mazdaspeed protege is turboed on stock internals and runs between 5 and 7.5 pounds of boost.

Thats not a good example.

I had my sentra running 18ish lbs daily on stock internals.

you would be alright running that. atleast you should be as long as you don't drive it like there's no tomorrow all the time or like your being chased by da po po!!!

uhh, stock GSR, depend what turbo. 8 psi will NOT hurt that motor at all ... 15 and ur stupid. ur shit will blow up. dont make much over 280whp. 300 SHOULD be fine, but thats pushing it as far as motor longetivity ..... if u want it to last "forever", 8 psi will be great

tons of bad info here, first off you cant just say sure you can run 8 psi safely b/c the amount of airflow at 8 psi differs from one turbo to the next (quick example, a evo3 16g will flow less at 8 psi than say a 50trim, simply b/c the turbo is bigger), so depending on the turbo you use will depend on a safe amount of boost to run, but all in all boosting=safe w/ the right components, i turboed my old z6 civic coupe, ran 7psi on a t25 and never had a problem with the car

okay, turbo size does matter. 8 psi on most kits that one would put on a GSR should be fine. as long as you make close to 300 whp, but not over that. it will make over 300 and prob last a long time. but then again it may not. 260-280 whp @ around 8 psi is fine. now if you make 280 whp @ 13 psi, then no, it's not good. HP doesnt kill a motor, pressure does

i know psi soesnt mean alot. gotta figure how much air is flowin at the psi your runnin. like 8 psi at 700 cfms. is that what your sayin?

take it to mainstream, you will be fine

I suggest taking it to Main Stream, also.

But 275-300whp will be fine for stock internals, just don't beat on it at every stop light.

pressure nor hp kills a motor, detonation does.
just take it to a trusty shop and have it tuned real well.
running 8-10 shouldnt hurt for a daily, unless you're boosting every light, like ^ said.

why is there bad info here? On most "Commmon" kits for a GSR you can run 8 PSI all day long on Stock Internals.. If the motor is healthy and not being rapped everyday.
So all the info given before your reply were good replies. + I would listen to Scotty,b18c1turbo, anotherRR, Halfbaked and Hyper50 over you anyday.

So stop with the hatting. C'mon man.. you ran 7lbs on a D series...

You shouldve Called Scotty , He wouldve show you how to really boost a D series... ah Shit, wait.. he actually made a post in this thread.
