A GA Driving Law everyone should know...or you'll pay

I just wanted to make sure everyone is aware of a new law in Georgia(well, it has been in effect for about one year). It is called the Move Over Law. This morning, a girl on the radio show was telling about a ticket she received. She said she was on her way to work and saw where a cop had someone pulled over. She said he was walking back to his car, so of course, she slowed down as she passed him. A few seconds later, the cop was pulling her over. He gave her a ticket for not following the law by moving over a lane while passing. She called a week later to find out how much she owed for her ticket, and it was $650! They said the minimum fine is $500! I believe the law is to move over a lane while passing a police car
assisting someone, a wrecker, tow truck, etc. Just wanted to make sure everyone was aware of it.

Its for their safety, but I can see this causing more accidents. Someone jerks the wheel to move over to the next lane, looses control, and slams into the officer.

i think there's a clause in the law that allows for instances where one can't move over (ie. you have traffic to your left), you are just supposed to slow way down to pass.

damn i glad you posted that!! i would have been very pissed if i got a ticket for that much. just the other day i passed a cop like that i was in the fast lane though so he was in no danger. i do slow down though.

Fucc Ga road rules!! They got a ticket for everything u do. I wish there was a real uncle sam id kick his ass every time i saw him, i dnt give a damn where hes at, who hes with, or what hes doing. I swear its all about the money and respect. I dnt care what the law does, ill never respect it bc of how stupid it is. If they dnt want to get hit by somebodys mirror quit pulling ppl over. If they have to pull soembody over get the fuc off the road. As many times as i get pulled over for BS and lied to about y i get pulled over, fuccem. And then i hear they are dropping the speed limit and raising fines in certain areas? Catch me motherfukerz!!!
