alright guys i'm lookin for a good home for my dempsey to go to... it's just takin up room in my tank. i've got a 29 gallon tank with two 6-7 inch oscars and the dempsey which is about 4 inches... i don't want it at all anyone out there interested???? let me know.

now for the question, i've had what they call a "normal" oscar for about two years, it's gotten quite large. it's always been pretty aggresive and would practically flip out when i was ready to feed it. well during christmas i bought a tiger oscar that's a little larger than the other. since then the normal oscar doesn't eat hardly at all, and also goes crazy sometimes in the night, hurting itself on the filters. actually it jumped out of the tank once!!! any advice??

too bad about the dempsey, I live in savannah, as for the not eating, wigging out I have no idea. sounds like you need to keep him in your quarentine tank for a while....

Yes you have TO many fish in there!!! Full grown oscars need LOTS of room.

I would take the Jack, but the one in my 55 gallon tank is about 8 inches.

^^^ but mines bigger... and they don't normally have that much black in them untill they are either spooked or two males are fighting, or protecting eggs... a better way to say that would have been... stressed.. lol

oh and an update! the normal oscar is eating normal again... randomly! what strange is i left for home friday... and i fed them this mornin and all three ate like they hadn't been fed, yet i know my room mate over fed them while i was gone cause my tank was all kinds of nasty.. but they ate and more importantly it ate without being scared!
