i like to know if i should change my gsr tranny to a type r tranny and does all gsr trannys have lsd

gsr tranny do not come with an lsd, it all depends on what you are trying to do with your car. I would keep the gsr tranny and maybe get different gears for it

type r tranny is by far,way better than gsr.. type r = lsd and shorter gearing
gsr=no lsd and longer gears

only if you r going turbo are top speed racing.......
for all motor r low boost type r would be a lot better,pluse you won't have to spend another grand on lsd

eh, i generally like taller gears. they are faster in the end. shorter gears means more shifting to 60. does the type r tranny do 60 in 2nd.

I did this swap in my GSR when i had it. It was awesome! The LSD is such a nice change for a FWD car. The shorter gears are only slightly noticeable... I'd say buy the type-r tranny, then sell your gsr tranny. you can find type-r trannys for around 1100-1200. If your GSR tranny has semi-low mileage you should be able to sell it for around 900-1100. That leaves you with very little out of pocket :).

1. Nobody's gonna buy a GsR tranny for 900-1100
2. GsR gears are WAY too fucking short, and ITR i cant even describe how fucking short they are...in my gsr tranny on highway in 5th gear...80mph=4k rpm.....redictulous,
3. If u goin all motor and YOU like short gears then ITR it is......if u like Long gears then i suggest getting a LS....or a ITR with ls 5th gear...and put the lsd in w/e u get..i like short gears but i hate them on the highway when you trynna cruise and yo ass revvin up like a bike, lol.
4. The lsd is wonderful!!! and i got a GOOD GsR tranny for $350 a while back! not that YOU gonna find one for that price, but they only sell for like 550 normally and in GOOD condition you will never get 900-1100 for it......

Are u going all motor or boost?
